Urgent change is needed. #health Last week we supported 42 clients via culturally sensitive harm reduction, housing & welfare support. @TowerHamletsNow must audit @changegrowlive provision. @changegrowlive gross income was ￡284 million in 2023. 45% alleged mistreatment by @changegrowlive. 61% felt the service provided was not trauma informed. 73% claimed management did not support them after complaining. 88% said their Caseworker was overwhelmed.

In addition to the trauma that comes with being in the child welfare system, BIPOC youth in foster care often experience additional stressors due to discrimination and cultural displacement. One year ago today, I took a leap of faith by leaving state government and child welfare after 25 years and joined DaMar to lead up the consulting division. Despite feeling nervous after serving as the Staff Development Deputy Director for the Indiana Department of Child Services for the last 10 years, I am so glad I took that risk.
