It is a usual to hear the tern Outcome based learning for teachers. What is this Actually? What are its importance and why we are implementing OBL as our teaching pedagogy ? Here are some Insights...?? ?? Outcome-Based Learning (OBL) is an educational approach that focuses on measuring student learning outcomes rather than just delivering content. It emphasizes setting clear, specific, and measurable goals for what students should be able to do or demonstrate upon completing a course or program. ?? ??Key principles of OBL:?? 1. Clear learning outcomes : Specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) statements of what students will be able to do. 2. Focus on application : Emphasis on applying knowledge and skills in real-world contexts. 3. Assessment-driven instruction : Instruction is designed to help students achieve the desired learning outcomes. 4. Continuous assessment and feedback : Regular assessment and feedback to monitor student progress and adjust instruction. 5. Emphasis on mastery : Students are expected to demonstrate mastery of learning outcomes, rather than just completing coursework. ??Benefits of OBL:?? 1. Improved student learning 2. Increased accountability 3. Better alignment with industry needs 4. Enhanced transfer of learning 5. More effective instruction #teaching #teachers #pedagogy #OutcomeBasedLearning #learning #LinkedInlearning #LinkedIn #students .

Rubrics are a crucial tool in modern #education, providing a clear and consistent framework for #teaching and assessment. They offer detailed criteria for grading various assignments, making expectations transparent for #students. Rubrics help students understand the components of quality work, enabling them to self-assess and #improve their work before submission. They also provide meaningful feedback, breaking down complex tasks into manageable components, allowing teachers to give precise feedback on specific areas of strength and areas needing improvement. Rubrics promote consistency in grading across different #educators and classes, ensuring all students are assessed by the same standards. This is particularly beneficial in large educational institutions where multiple instructors might teach the same course. For educators, rubrics serve as a reflective tool to enhance instructional methods by clearly defining expectations at each performance level. This aligns teaching practices with desired outcomes. Rubrics can also be used to collect data on student performance over time, providing insights into the effectiveness of teaching strategies and identifying areas where curriculum adjustments might be needed. One of the most significant advantages of rubrics is their role in developing students' self-assessment skills. When students are provided with a rubric, they can independently evaluate their work against the established criteria before submission, encouraging them to take ownership of their #learning and develop critical thinking skills. This proactive approach to self-assessment leads to a more personalised and effective learning experience. In conclusion, rubrics are a powerful educational tool that benefits both teachers and students by bringing clarity, consistency, and fairness to the assessment process, enhancing feedback quality, supporting reflective teaching practices, and empowering students to take control of their learning. As an educator, how do you know your students are learning? Although this question may seem simple to answer, the way a teacher or coach answers the question has profound philosophical and practical effects. Changing the answer affects what is taught (curriculum), how information is presented (instruction), and the ways students practice and perform (assessment). In addition, combining the answer to the question with how quickly the learning needs to occur changes the tempo of the learning, producing widely different learning environments. Educational assessment is the process of collecting and analyzing evidence of learning in different settings and contexts. It helps teachers, students, parents, and other stakeholders understand what learners know and can do, as well as identify their strengths and areas for improvement. Educational assessments can take many forms: They may involve formal tests or performance-based activities. They may be administered online or be paper-based. They may be objective (requiring a single correct answer) or subjective (requiring an open-ended answer, such as in an essay). They may be formative (carried out at various points during an educational course) or summative (carried out at the end of a course). The purpose of educational assessment is to enhance learning and improve educational quality by enabling educators to make informed decisions that support learners’ growth and development. Using education assessments, educators can: Align instruction with learning goals and standards Provide feedback and guidance to learners Track learners’ progress and achievement over time Adjust teaching strategies based on learners’ needs Motivate and engage learners in their learning Evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs Communicate learners’ progress and achievement to stakeholders Foster a culture of growth and accountability #RaiseAgainstAutism #PinnacleSaysItAll #PinnacleBloomsNetwork #1AutismTherapyCentresNetwork

Absolutely this!!! Eight years of teaching and training DI - I have lost count of the success stories, but there is still no better feeling than watching failing, despondent students start to realise their potential. Seeing them discover a more confident, positive approach to learning is worth more than any paycheck! Any child can be taught and will be successful, but only if DI is implemented with fidelity and efficacy. If you have children/students/learners with a deficit in English or maths, you really won't find a more highly researched and field-tested solution than DI. National Institute for Direct Instruction
For over 50 years, Direct Instruction (DI) has empowered educators to deliver learning experiences proven to transform students at all levels into highly skilled and confident learners. Dr. Mary Eisele, VP of Intervention at McGraw Hill School, shares a few ways DI can accelerate growth. https://mhed.us/3DTN5ZY #Education #Teaching
