I see many #MarketingTechnology job descriptions too focused on platform-specific experience. Sure, immediate proficiency is ideal - no one has time for a learning curve when dollars are on the line. But what happens when the company overhauls their systems? When technology advances beyond our current platforms? I understand the need for agility and adaptability, but focusing too much on platform-specific experience seems like... a risky move! Teams need to be able to pivot, evolve, and navigate whatever tech wave hits next. ???? ???????????????????? ????: Look beyond 'platform-specific' skills when hiring a #MarketingTechnology team. Invest in people who understand how Martech can help marketing processes and can influence others without title, not just the platforms. Agree?

I wonder how long this is in human time ?? Are there any studies or tools that can convert AI time/responses into human years it would take to produce the same level of response/information considering that some of the responses we get are decades or, depending on the sources, centuries of data. Also, what's the longest time anyone else has had o1 think for? This was a complex one - longest one before this for me was 31 seconds. For context, this is something I would have asked from from someone with 15-20 years of experience or a team comprising of roughly 17 marketing managers in various departmemts (or multiple agencies) without input from their respective team members (so like anywhere between 30-60 people) ??

Google buying Hubspot: Good move or dead on arrival? The opportunity: This represents a bold move for Google, one that could make up for its recent missteps in AI. I think it could be interesting as: -> Google owns ~80% of search on desktop and ~96% on mobile -> Google has a ton of complementary products including Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Slides, Sheets Combining these with a CRM software such as Hubspot could significantly increase the value of Google’s offering and take the fight to Salesforce and Microsoft. The complication: Tech has seen increased regulatory scrutiny from regulators around the world. The number of tech sector deals frustrated by antitrust authorities has increased 3x (20% of deals blocked in 2023 were in tech). Yes! It’s Fri-YAY ?? and I did well on my second job interview with a start-up tech company??. A first for me: I was given a project to complete before my meeting. "Goal of the meeting will be to test your understanding of our company and how well you can propose GTM materials...Present an explanation of our approach vs. traditional approach." I spent hours researching and writing the paper, drawing on my industry experience (10 years IT consulting; 6 years product marketing) and even chatting to an ex-colleague for his validation. My super power was adding Microsoft Copilot to my team! I used it to gather answers and to go find me examples of published articles (I still need to work on my prompts): - “Explain the difference or similarity between x and y” - “Go find customer case study evidence for scenario z/vendor A“ - “What are the key benefits of technology A?” Copilot results were easy to copy and paste. And each reply had date stamp just like this one, “Source: Conversation with Copilot, 6/17/2024." A unique feature is how Copilot suggests follow up questions for it to work on; this could also take you down a different path, but that's useful too! (When I used Google Gemini it didn't keep the questions coming.) P.S. You may have read that Copilot comes with GPT-4 at no cost. If you haven’t tried it give it a shot.
