The American Legion's flag displays proudly symbolize patriotism and unity, but a more pressing issue demands our collective attention. The rampant spread of false information poses an existential threat to our nation's foundations, eroding trust, fueling harmful conspiracy theories, and fragmenting our society. To combat this threat, we must adopt a comprehensive strategy that addresses the root causes. This includes: - Educating critical thinking skills in schools - Promoting fact-based reporting and media transparency - Fostering diverse media ownership and social media accountability - Launching public awareness campaigns - Holding leaders accountable through collaborative journalism - Engaging in global cooperation to combat misinformation Our democracy's future depends on our ability to seek truth and reject falsehoods. It's time to unite behind the banner of truth and build a nation that values facts, knowledge, and truth above deception. We owe it to ourselves, our children, and the brave men and women who fought for our freedom to create a brighter future where our flag represents a united, free, and great nation guided by truth. By joining forces, we can create a society that champions knowledge, critical thinking, and truth, rendering the destructive forces of misinformation powerless. Together, we can forge a culture that celebrates fact-based discourse, empowers informed decision-making, and ensures that truth drives our perceptions and decisions. ????

The intent of this post is not to discuss the merits of one conspiracy theory or another. The purpose is to highlight that for four decades, the US national security community has been guilty of gross incompetence when it comes to influence operations and associated threats. We have nearly half of American voters who can no longer distinguish between reality and their intentionally cultivated conspiracy theories, propaganda, "reflexive control" or otherwise. Waste, fraud and abuse, nepotism and bizarre gibberish concepts have dominated my profession, as long I have been associated with it. In my career alone, global democracy has shrunk precipitously, domestic audiences are as subject to foreign influence operations on a similar level to places like Russia, China, Iran etc. U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) cannot protect us from influence operations that are demonstrable in articles like this one and in fact, nearly the entire GOP platform and Project 2025. The left has their big problems too. It's called Narrative Warfare and 99.99 % of the national security community is clueless about narrative altogether and has long been impotent in how to campaign in ethical influence. Nepotism, waste, fraud and abuse in contracting are largely at fault. Highly paid failed experts still are the drivers of doctrine and nonsense concepts. The National Center for Narrative Intelligence at University of Mississippi is a perfect example but only one of many. Our national defense community simply does not nor will learn about influence, especially from operators, who are voiceless in contributing to innovation. Would you let a surgeon operate on you without having ever practiced surgery? These greedy contractors and conned, government/ military functionaries are irrevocably lost. So long as this continues, we will continue losing wars, peace, stability and maybe even, our republic. Only a complete revamp of the system can help. Band-aids are useless when the patient is this far gone. I received my first Cease and Desist last week! Naturally, I did what anyone in my position would do: I printed it, framed it, and am now celebrating this tremendous accomplishment with LinkedIn (lol). There’s two types of Veteran Service Organization’s out there - the ones that say they fight for veterans and then the ones that fight for them so voraciously they receive C&Ds from cowards who, rather than operate within the law, would rather hire counsel to attack those actually protecting #veterans. I’ve always wanted to be associated with those latter organizations, so this document is a clear win, in my opinion. You see, the thing about C&Ds is they’re effectively non-enforceable if the statements in question are backed by verifiable facts or, in this case, publicly available court records. So, to my biggest fan, so threatened by my advocacy that you chose to cower behind a C&D, I’ll close with this: I will stop calling you a claim shark when you provide me with a letter from the Department of Veterans Affairs stating you’re not actively in violation of Title 38, Chapter 1, Part 14 of the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations. Until then, to steal a line from Hardy, “Imma keep shooting, cause I don’t miss.” Cheers! PS: Thank you to the attorneys that immediately contacted me for support. I appreciate you! ?? _____ ??: The pin. ?? ?????? For those super interested, my heavily redacted response is below.

The Dark Night Online | LAW ENFORCEMENT FUNDING and RESOURCING is one of the important subjects I am preparing to cover in a forthcoming interview for my ANIMALS LIKE US podcast. I will be speaking to a US law enforcement officer who has been operating at the bleeding edge of crime fighting and who will share rare insights into the battle for justice and the resource requirements needed to win. In the post below from the Chief Communications Officer for the United States Secret Service there is reference to a Washington Post article that highlights the pressing need. We must understand that in the West we are under siege by decentralised state sponsored enterprise for hire organised criminals. This situation is not going to lessen and is more likely to worsen. A pipeline of hacks and breaches and use of new technologies for infiltration will guarantee that increase unless law enforcement are empowered to mitigate this.
The U.S. Secret Service stands as one of the world’s top protective and investigative agencies, driven by the exceptional talent and dedication of its people. However, we are currently operating in an increasingly dynamic and complex threat environment, which has necessitated a significant elevation in our readiness. This week, we sat down with The Washington Post to discuss what it will take to sustain this heightened operational tempo. 'We are running our people at levels we haven’t seen in our protective operations,' Acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe said. 'We are burning everything hot right now.'
