Yesterday, as part of the Construction Industry Federation (CIF) Safety Campaign 2024, we highlighted one of the most dangerous parts of the job – Excavations. We held a great session on the Clonmel WRZ WP1 Project, all about the major risks and the controls we need to have in place when dealing with excavations. We had the privilege of welcoming Joe Lenihan from Groundforce join us, sharing some invaluable insights with the team. The discussion covered: ? The common challenges that come up during excavations. ? How these challenges impact the job on the ground. ? The different types of shoring systems out there. ? What goes into picking the right shoring system for the job. A standout moment was when we focused on temporary works, featuring the innovative YourSolution interactive shoring excavation design tool. We also had a hands-on demo of installing proprietary systems effectively. It was great to have Lisa Garrett, UE Lead, on board as well, lending her support and adding to the conversation.
