?? Our "Treasure Hunting" project showcases the transformative power of reviewing past research. By utilizing machine learning(ML) in combination with a vast database of 14,000 metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), we demonstrate that revisiting previous studies can indeed be a shortcut, saving both time and costs. This innovative approach breathes new life into existing research, paving the way for rapid advancements in material science, specifically for enhancing Li-ion batteries.
?? A central question we addressed was the reliability of ML in scientific research. Despite the sophisticated descriptions prevalent in the literature, these often lack thorough validation. Over the last two years, we've sought to systematically verify these claims. By delving into our extensive dataset of MOFs, our goal was to identify conductive materials that could rejuvenate past research and expedite scientific progress in electrochemistry.
?? Our findings reaffirm that while machine-generated models are invaluable tools, they cannot yet replace the discerning power of human oversight.
Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to explore these exciting developments!
