Tune into this weeks “Short Take” on the Energy Espresso ???? as we dive into challenges facing #OilAndGas Operators and Service businesses looking implement #Electrification projects using the #Grid, but #Utility shortfalls end up causing disruption in those projects. A tale of two cities is the first act as electricity prices skyrocket and demand outstrips supply: ?#DataCenters can stroke big checks for utility power and absorb these input costs more easily. ?Oil and Gas Operators aren’t able to directly pass these inputs costs onto the market as their product is tied to a commodity market. ?#Nuclear is a great source of clean and reliable power, but mothballed plants which can be reactivated aren’t sitting on the sidelines (Microsoft and Amazon anecdotes were a lucky break) and new builds aren’t coming quickly if started today (~10-years). We can’t wait till 2035 to fix the grid, but #NaturalGas is the answer to our power challenges today and tomorrow - further investment is required in #PowerPlants & #Infrastructure. Case Study 2: Multi-well Oil and Gas Production Location In the face of challenges like limited access to utility power and the need for cleaner energy alternatives, an operator requires a robust solution to meet their power generation needs. Specifically, they sought 10 MW of oil and gas production power generation while aiming to transition away from approximately 40 diesel generators. ?? Solution: Leveraging the high BTU content of the field gas, the team implemented two SMT-60 gas turbines. These turbines were complemented with gas compressors and gas conditioning skids, forming a comprehensive system tailored to the operator's requirements. ??
