These days, I tell entrepreneurs whom I mentor that 1 thing entrepreneurs should focus on before their work is their health. A healthy mind and body increase our creativity and productivity in the long run. Early in my career, I focused on the hustle mindset, often working 100-hour weeks and prioritizing work. My health took a huge toll, and I was stuck with various chronic health ailments. Today, as I've reversed those diseases, the one secret that helped me was personalizing my health solutions. In this journey, getting more information specific to my health was life-changing. You don't want to treat any health condition with generic treatment. In my case, I found a great personal health coach, Dr. Shyam Das, who spent three days a week with me. It was worth it, and I am grateful to him. Relying solely on generic supplements or multivitamins is akin to taking a one-size-fits-all approach, which may not address your body's unique needs and could potentially overlook underlying health issues. "Create work that works for you" We all have our natural tag lines, and this is one of mine. It comes out without thinking at network events, on calls, when speaking to an audience. I've been thinking a lot about this one recently for 2 reasons: 1. This is still one of my personal daily "mantras" - my goal is to keep creating work that works for me and my health now and into the future. It is simple, but not at all easy. ?? Sometimes it feels like it takes every drop of willpower to hold the line of my own health boundaries "against" the work demands of a new business. (More on trying to reduce the feeling of being in battle another day!) 2. In using this personal mantra, it also threads into my business ethos - I am in the process of refining my services and marketing and what is really coming through is that I LOOOVVEEE to help others to do this too... ??
