It’s been a year marked by both heartbreak and resilience, and the weight of our experiences lingers heavily in our hearts. ?? This past year feels both short and long. On one hand, it seems like just yesterday that our world was turned upside down, leaving us grappling with its aftermath. The trauma from that day is still deeply embedded in our collective memory, a reminder of the fragility of life and the challenges we face. On the other hand, as we look back, it’s hard to believe that a full year has passed. ??? Lives have been put on hold, and many still await resolution and closure. The ongoing uncertainty weighs heavily on us. In this year we’ve witnessed an outpouring of compassion, reminding us of the strength that emerges in times of crisis. Our communities have come together in remarkable ways, supporting one another through grief and uncertainty. Yet, amidst this unity, there remains a sense of loss with many families still coping with empty spaces at their tables. As we confront our feelings—whether they be sorrow, anger, or remorse—let us remember the importance of hope. While the shadows of the past may linger, they do not define us.??? As we remember and reflect, let us also look toward tomorrow with determination and strength. We're all in this together: remember this slogan? In March 2020, the world as we knew it came to a screeching halt. It was a time of uncertainty, fear, and isolation. But amidst the chaos, a profound lesson emerged—one that we must never forget. The pandemic stripped away the layers of our busy lives, laying bare the common basic needs of humanity: love, connection, compassion, and resilience. It reminded us that beyond titles, status, and material possessions, we are all vulnerable beings, craving human connection and understanding. Let us carry this lesson forward, not just as a memory of hardship, but as a guiding light towards a more compassionate and connected future.
