Hey, you in the #ForestProducts industry—did you know that the U.S. Forest Service offers grants for certain capital projects?
Every year (and twice last year), the office accepts applications for its Wood Innovations grant program and its Community Wood Energy program. The former offers grants of up to $300K toward upgrades to wood processing systems, while the latter supplies grants of up to $1M (and, in rare cases, up to $1.5M).
The office also offered a related grant last year, the "Wood Products Infrastructure Assistance Grants," which funds wood processing facilities for improving, establishing, retrofitting, or expanding facilities that purchase and process byproducts from ecosystem restoration projects from federal or tribal lands."
