When developing sales and marketing messaging, for one moment, forget what your capabilities are. Forget what your solutions are. Set all of that aside. Focus on the problems that your potential clients are focused on solving. What are their beliefs around the problem? Around potential ways to solve them? Use your opportunity to show a story of how problems are identified and solved, and the results you can create, rather than forcing a capabilities presentation in every marketing channel that exists. The mistake that we most often make is that we’re trying to convince someone “this is why you should care about our capability.” It ends up as a sales pitch and it ends up getting glossed over and ignored.
