Peerbridge Health wants to clear away the barriers that prevent the early detection of cardiovascular disease. Since current tools largely reside in the hospital, timely diagnosis is inaccessible to rural populations. Peerbridge has created an AI-enabled, FDA-cleared ECG hospital grade wearable that can reach patients where they are, e.g. cardiac hospital at home, or point-of-care in alternative settings. What's more, according to its CEO, it is inexpensive at scale.?#InnovationSanDiego

We had the opportunity to interview Dr. Steve Riechman, Associate Professor at?Texas A&M University,?about his groundbreaking #ResearchStudy using EmbracePlus to identify breath biomarkers of fatigue. Fatigue isn’t just exhausting — its effects can be fatal. This led Dr. Riechman to examine physical fatigue, sleep deprivation fatigue, and mental fatigue of subjects, working alongside the United States Department of Defense. Over 7 weeks, the EmbracePlus wearable achieved over 80% wear time. Having just completed the study, Riechman is now highly focused on validating the breath biomarkers of fatigue. Here’s what Dr. Riechman had to say about the tech: "I really liked that EmbracePlus and the Empatica Health Monitoring Platform are focused on clinical trials and are FDA-cleared. That represents a higher standard, whereas off-the-shelf commercial devices aren't necessarily held to the same standards." I came across a fascinating article that I wanted to share with you all. It explores the potential of using single-lead ECG data from Apple Watches to predict the risk of fatal coronary heart disease through a deep learning model. The researchers trained an AI-based model on clinical ECGs and tested its performance against Apple Watch ECGs with some really promising results. One highlight that caught my attention: Risk stratification predictions from Apple Watch and clinical ECGs matched for 99% of participants when divided into low and high-risk groups. This demonstrates the potential of wearables in remote health monitoring and risk prediction. What really excites me is the broader impact studies like this could have—not just in improving cardiovascular care and prevention, but also in reducing healthcare costs and making interventions more accessible. It’s clear that there’s still work to do, but this kind of innovation is exactly what we need to push cardiovascular health forward and provide better care for patients. Let me know what you think—can wearables like these reshape how we approach prevention and early intervention? #CardiologyInnovation #HeartHealthTech #FutureOfHealthcare

Revolutionary heart failure device could cut hospital visits! ???? A groundbreaking study just crossed my desk, from Glasgow's finest at the University of Glasgow. Their innovative research, highlighted in the European Journal of Heart Failure, introduces a potential game-changer for 64 million heart failure warriors globally. Enter the Sensinel CPM System, a clever patch the size of your palm, which could be the guardian angel for heart failure patients. ??? It's all about early detection and swift intervention, which could translate to fewer hospital stays and a better quality of life. Picture this: a wearable device, discreetly applied to your chest, that's constantly vigilant, sending data directly to your healthcare team. Heart rate, breathing, even those subtle cues that only your body knows, all monitored from the comfort of your home. It's the future, now. ?? And it's not just about comfort - it's about cost, too. Those recurrent hospital admissions take a toll financially and emotionally. This tech promises to ease the burden. Do you believe wearable tech is the future of healthcare? At Simplex Quantum, we started transforming heart health monitoring with AI detecting irregular heartbeats in real-time using lead I ECG data. Our first AI-powered mobile app for atrial fibrillation (AF) notified physicians of irregularities, enabling them to quickly review and connect with patients directly. Now, we’re developing a solution to detect heart failure from the comfort of home. Heart failure affects over 6.7 million adults in the US, and with cases projected to rise by 30% in the next decade, early detection is crucial. Yet, recognizing the symptoms early enough can be challenging, even for experts. By leveraging advanced AI and wearable technology, we can monitor ECGs on demand, identifying early signs of heart failure before symptoms even appear. We believe that this will enable timely intervention, reducing hospitalizations and improving long-term outcomes for millions. Driven by our mission to save lives, we are fully committed to developing this life-changing solution. Join us on this journey to redefine heart health screenings. #AIinHealthcare #HeartFailure #WearableTech #HealthcareInnovation #MedTech #HealthTech

?? The Day Technology Saved a Life ?? In the world of medicine, technology can be the difference between life and death. I experienced this firsthand one fateful morning. Rohit, a healthy 38-year-old man, suddenly collapsed while jogging. He had no prior health issues, but thanks to his smartwatch, we received critical alerts. The device detected an irregular heartbeat and sent real-time data to the emergency team. ?? Data in Action The immediate insights allowed us to quickly assess his condition. We discovered he was experiencing atrial fibrillation, a potentially life-threatening arrhythmia. Thanks to the smartwatch's alert, we could initiate timely interventions, stabilizing him before he reached the hospital. ?? The Power of Innovation This incident reinforced the importance of technology in healthcare. Rohit later received an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator, powered by AI, to monitor his heart rhythm and prevent future events. ?? Together, We Can Make a Difference Stories like Rohit's remind us why we embrace innovation. Let’s continue to harness technology to save lives and improve patient outcomes. ?? What role do you think technology plays in the future of healthcare? I’d love to hear your thoughts!
