Air Canada's pilots are facing a potential strike over wage demands. As negotiations near an impasse, both parties could issue a 72-hour strike or lockout notice, leading to a gradual suspension of flights. The pilots are pushing to close the pay gap with their U.S. counterparts, while Air Canada is urging moderation, warning of a shutdown starting September 15 if no agreement is reached. #airlinestrike #aircanada #collectivebargaining #strike #labourrelations #jobaction #labourlaw #labourlawyer #labourrightslaw https://lnkd.in/gxjcvwZj

It's incredible how one of the largest US mainland airline carriers can pay its worthless CEO $34.1 Million for doing nothing good for the company compared to Delta, Alaska, and Southwest, who have done more for their employees. Meanwhile, Mr. Isom has no shame in taking his millions and putting nothing back into its employee's wages, airline safety, or even signing the flight attendants' contract pay raise. What kind of loser is this CEO? Look at Alaska, Delta, and Southwest doing better than American Airlines. How sad to see a corporation misled by poor leadership, corrupt stakeholders, weak union reps, and unhappy employees. I have often said that all AA employees should unite and walk out for a week. Let's see Mr. Isom run AA with his worthless upper management. I pay to watch it happen. #airlines, #AA, #Alaska, #Delta, #Southwest, #Hawaiian, #frontier,#spirits,#CEO, #Management, #employee's, #safety, #mechanics, #flight, #attendants, #pilots, #gate #crew, #leadership No Deal: American Airlines Flight Attendants Told To Brace For Strike Over Pay Dispute

The spectre of a potential Air Canada pilot strike is casting a long shadow over the upcoming travel season. Negotiations between the airline and its pilots, represented by the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA), have been ongoing for months, with little progress made thus far. The pilots' union has been engaged in contract negotiations with Air Canada since June 2023. They have expressed dissatisfaction with several issues, including wages, work rules, and benefits. They argue that the airline industry has recovered from the pandemic, and it's time for pilots to share in the financial success. Key Dates to Watch August 22nd:?The strike vote closes. August 26th:?Federal conciliation ends. September 17th:?Pilots could legally strike if no agreement is reached. This timeline underscores the urgency of the situation. If a strike occurs, it could cause widespread travel disruptions, impacting millions of passengers. #Airport #Airline #AirCanada #Pilots #Strike #AviationIndustry #AviationOasis https://lnkd.in/efP7dj5w

Air Canada pilots vote to approve strike for Sep. Air Canada pilots voted to authorize a strike for as soon as next month, with 98% voting members in favour, the Air Line Pilots Association union said on Thursday. More than 5,000 pilots represented by the union have been pressing for historic gains to narrow a wage gap with higher-paid U.S. counterparts, who secured record contracts in 2023 amid pilot shortages and strong travel demand. The carrier's pilots started bargaining last summer after ending a decade-long contract framework. #Cantranspo #shippingnews #logistics #freightforwarding #Shipping #oceanfreight #supplychain #airfreight

Air Canada is bracing for significant operational disruptions as over 5,200 pilots, represented by the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA), are poised to strike. This potential strike, set to begin on September 15, 2024, could lead to widespread flight cancellations and affect thousands of passengers daily. The primary issue driving the strike is the significant pay disparity between Air Canada pilots and their counterparts at U.S. airlines. Pilots at Delta Air Lines, for example, earn up to 45% more than those at Air Canada. This wage gap has been a longstanding concern for the pilots, who argue that their compensation does not reflect the value they bring to the airline. The looming strike has caused considerable anxiety among passengers. Air Canada has already announced that it will begin an "orderly shutdown" of its operations if a strike notice is issued. This shutdown could affect up to 110,000 passengers daily, with 80% of Air Canada's flights potentially being impacted. #Airport #Airline #Canada #AirCanada #Pilots #ALPA #AviationIndustry #AviationOasis https://lnkd.in/epGXywiR
