X’s latest update feels like a sudden breach of trust in a digital world we’ve already started to question. Now, by simply using the platform, we’re unknowingly giving X the green light to feed our posts into AI models—even if we thought we opted out. It’s unsettling to realise that our words, our thoughts, could be used without our consent to train algorithms that don’t care about our intent. The transparency we once hoped for feels like a mirage, fading as quickly as it appeared. This isn’t just a technical issue—it’s a breach of privacy, a violation of our autonomy in a space we’ve built over time. It’s more than a policy update; it’s the erosion of control over the very content we create.
