Beyond Investing: Early-Stage Founder Hours and Student Workshop We couldn’t be more thrilled to bring our first Beyond Investing event to Leeds in partnership with Nexus Leeds at the University of Leeds and FinTech North on Monday 4th November. Through our Beyond Investing programme we aim to contribute to developing the next cohort of potential growth stage fintechs throughout the North of England, whilst also nurturing a strong pipeline of regional talent for the fintech sector. The day will be split into two halves, with the morning focussing on educating students through a series of panel discussions with NatWest Group, Barclays, Peel Hunt, Mastercard, Border To Coast Pensions Partnership, Ada Ventures and the FGF Advisory Board, on what a career in fintech and/or investment looks like, as well as current trends and themes across the fintech industry and the importance of DE&I within VC. The afternoon session will be targeted towards early-stage fintech founders participating in a series of 20-minute small-group workshops with White & Case LLP, Outward VC, Praetura Ventures, Anthemis Group, alongside others, for bespoke advice and guidance on topics such as successful financial planning, building lasting growth whilst scaling, working in partnership with FIs, and legal support, as well as the opportunity for reverse pitching.
