Challenging the Status Quo: RF on Fiber When introducing new technology, skepticism often comes from one place: “I’ve never heard of it, so it can’t work.” Early demonstrations of RF on fiber at IWCE showed this firsthand: ?? Attendees questioned the concept because it was unfamiliar. ?? We heard lectures about why it would never work—despite the technology proving otherwise. Our response? Prove it works. Using signal generators and spectrum analyzers, we showed RF being transmitted over fiber, converted, and displayed live. Even then, some walked away, unwilling to accept the innovation. ?? The lesson? Change is hard, but reliability and innovation go hand-in-hand when technology solves real problems. ?? These real-world demonstrations help business leaders and policymakers gain a deeper understanding of the advanced capabilities and customer-centric product design that today's innovators are working toward. ????? VGIC’s IED Zach Woogen spoke on a panel alongside Blake Heidenreich (Southern California Edison (SCE)), Noel Crisostomo (U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)), and Brittany Blair (Smart Electric Power Alliance), discussing the latest developments and challenges in V2G policy and regulation. ?? Funding Alert: Up to $1.3 Billion in new funding for up to 11 Point-Source Carbon Capture Large-Scale Pilots, Commercial Demonstrations, and Networked Infrastructure Planning and Design projects. Through this funding opportunity, OCED aims to bolster the development and commercialization of carbon capture, utilization, and storage technologies with significant investments targeting the design, stakeholder engagement, construction, and operation of large-scale point-source carbon capture projects.
