We'll be back in-person and online in July, and this is your chance to get in early to speak, attend, or partner. In a nutshell, it's an 'unconference' style event where fundraisers get up on stage to talk about something that *didn't* go well - and we all eat pizza and clap really hard to say well done. Some occasional whoops. The odd whistle. We also explore some sciency reasons about how our brains work and learn some tricks to push through low moments. The vibe is supportive, energetic, and welcoming - and it goes a long way in breaking down some of the misconceptions that everyone knows what they're doing. Great for orgs aiming to strengthen team relationships and go for growth in 2025, fundraisers wanting to feel community, relief, and motivation, or people who just really, really like pizza.

Did you know that one in five children in the U.S. experience food insecurity? For kids that rely on free or reduced-priced meals at school, summer can mean a lack of access to nutritious food. That’s why we’ve joined the Albertsons Companies Foundation in a groundbreaking coalition to tackle summer hunger through the USDA’s new Summer EBT program. Partnering with @FeedingAmerica, @FRACtweets, @GiftCardBank, @HungerFreeUSA, @mRelief_form, @nokidhungry, and @PHAnews we’re reaching over 200 foodbanks, 300 school districts, and 1,500 organizations. Eligible families can get $120 per child for groceries. Check if you qualify at SummerEBT.org.

We had an amazing time this past Saturday at our 3rd Annual "This Dad Cares" Grill-Off, and it wouldn't have been possible without YOU! Memorable Moments: The excitement at the Domino's Tournament was off the charts! Watching everyone compete for those prizes was so much fun. Back in the 1990s, three college students invented the game that became known as “six degrees of Kevin Bacon” after seeing two subsequent movies on television that featured Bacon: Footloose followed by The Air Up There. While watching the second film, they speculated on how many movies Bacon had appeared in, and with which other actors. This was in the pre-Internet days, so they couldn’t just Google it. They created the six degrees game, and it went viral, with college students playing the game on nearly every campus, it seemed. Fast forward to 2007 when Kevin Bacon decided to launch a Northern Virginia-based nonprofit supporting impactful initiatives to sustain and enrich local communities. With a tip of the hat to the game founders and wanting to highlight human connection, Bacon named the organization SixDegrees.Org. Now at the helm of SixDegrees is Stacy Huston, Executive Director. Huston made a major career pivot from business development and sales to heading the nonprofit. Wondering how? She sat down with us to share how she made the transition. ?? My team met Snoop Dogg* a few weeks ago. *Well…kind of. At Holiday of Play, our client Learning Resources showcased its new kitchen and cooking toys. Given that the real Snoop loves food and cooking, the team brought a lookalike to shake up the activation. He was a hit – “Snoop” got people excited and drew attention to the toys. He also fooled some folks (some of my own team included). The more you think about the real Snoop — he’s a PR genius, constantly reinventing his image. The turnaround story of the century. He’s gone from controversial, gangster rapper to chef, businessman, and America’s grandpa right in front of our eyes. The brand he’s created works because he: ??Keeps it 100% authentic all the time, no matter what he’s doing – whether it’s cooking with Martha Stewart or cheering on Team USA at the Olympics ??Has proven himself to be an industry chameleon, diversifying his brand from cannabis, food, and wine, to charities like the Snoop Youth Football League and his annual Thanksgiving turkey giveaway in Englewood ??Knows how to fit in with any generation – whether it’s hanging out as a coach on The Voice, or collaborating with talent from then to now At the end of the day, it ain’t nothing but a brand thing.? #publicrelations #strategy #creativity #pr #teamwork
