??We had two great days of health policy-related events. The first was a virtual candidate night hosted by the Rochester Black Nurses Association’s Health Policy Committee, where candidates introduced themselves, shared their positions, and discussed relevant legislation. ??The second event marked the kickoff of our health policy book series, centered around Carol Anderson's "One Person, No Vote." During this meeting, we explored themes related to voter suppression and its impact on marginalized communities. We discussed strategies for civic engagement and advocacy, political implications for nurses, emphasizing collaboration with elected officials and other organizations. ??????Thank you to everyone who joined us for these impactful discussions! We all know health center staff go above and beyond to ensure high-quality care for patients, but we also know they are being stretched thin. ? Congress has heard US. And, for the first time, bipartisan bills have been introduced to provide substantial federal funding to scale up Community Health Center-led workforce development programs.
