I love it when the media features founders who are pursuing "a beautiful slow graph of growth." It's so refreshing to read a story about a business that has chosen to "chase quality and shared values" vs. hockey stick growth. One that takes a human-centered approach vs. a transactional one. There are many of us who are entrepreneurs who have chosen not to chase the dream of a VC-funded, repeatable, scalable business. I wish the media would allocate more space to celebrate the benefits of this type of approach.? While I am not in the design business or a design aficionado I loved the Fast Company article on the slow and steady growth of the PINCH brand. I so appreciate reading about other entrepreneurs who have successfully taken this type of path. Similar to the founders of Pinch I started with my own manifesto about my values and how I wanted to live my life before founding Hugo Mentors.? I did this after 30 years of building scalable, repeatable businesses because I wanted a path that was more authentic and meaningful - and I built Hugo around a need I saw and something that I wished existed after watching my own two children go through high school.
