Shippensburg Man Faces 3,100 Animal Abuse Charges A man accused of abusing over 400 animals is currently on trial in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. In June 2021, authorities removed the animals from the farm of 64-year-old Barry Orndorff, who was arrested for not providing water, clean shelter, or vet care. The Speranza Animal Rescue rescued birds, rabbits, goats, sheep, guinea pigs, and a horse. The animals were allegedly living in conditions that were described as feces-filled — with no grass or hay — and poop-filled water. This horrific story painfully exemplifies why non-domestic species must be protected under anti-cruelty laws. First and foremost, because they are intelligent, sentient beings who should never have to endure this type of trauma and pain. But second, because the human psyche does a poorer job of drawing lines between “us” and “them” than we think, and when we tolerate violence toward any sentient creature, we are inviting more of it towards other humans and domestic species in our communities, and to the wider natural world. “It’s just an animal” thinking is never actually the case. When our laws allow for or even encourage mindsets of dominion and violence toward the “big bad” wild for the sake of individual human needs or enjoyment, we feed directly into a cycle of destruction that is literally killing the world and us with it.

The dog, while still breathing, was found in a condition that speaks to alleged inhumanity and disregard for life. A shocking case has emerged from Bennington, where an individual, Allan Washburn, allegedly confined animals in dangerous conditions. Two separate incidents involved a Siberian husky and later, a cat, reportedly locked in a car brimming with clutter and garbage. These allegations, if true, depict a distressing disregard for animal welfare. In detail, the husky, named Chad, was reportedly found in a vehicle filled with trash, under high temperatures, and without basic necessities like water. A similar fate befell a cat later, found in a similarly cluttered car. Such conditions could lead to severe distress or worse for any confined animal. This repeated behavior signals a disturbing pattern of neglect and a clear disregard for the welfare of these creatures. Given these alarming allegations, it is imperative to ensure justice and prevent further such incidents. The responsible individual must face appropriate legal consequences. Hence, demand strict legal action against Allan Washburn for his alleged repeated acts of animal cruelty. This will send a strong message against animal neglect and abuse.

As properly noted by Animal Wellness Action , there is nothing in the WY law exemption provision for a "predator" wolf that is applicable to the torment and torture of the wolf ???? ?????? ?????????????????????? ?????????? ?????????????? ?????????????? ?????? ??????????????. Roberts binding the wolf's mouth, his return home with it, and his ongoing torment and torture of the animal, both at his home and in the bar before shooting it dead, are not exempted by 6-3-1008 as they fall outside of the permissions granted for "hunting, capture, killing or destruction." The "not otherwise prohibited by law" language in the subsection (vii) language also provides a justification for prosecution for felony animal cruelty under state law. As cited above. tormenting and torture an animal is against the law in Wyoming under 6-3-1005(a)(ii). Therefore, his actions are ""otherwise prohibited by law,'' rendering the exemption inoperable. Under 6-3-1005(b), cruelty to animals, such as that committed by Roberts, is a felony crime punishable by imprisonment for not more than two (2) years, a fine of not more than five thousand dollars ($5,000.00), or both. The surviving three puppies were rescued by deputies and investigators, but the tragic loss underscores a grave act of cruelty. Abandoning animals in such a manner is not only inhumane but also illegal under Texas law. The puppies were left exposed to the elements, trapped in a confined space with no means of escape or survival. This act of neglect and cruelty resulted in unnecessary suffering and the preventable deaths of innocent animals who deserved care and protection.
