When we envisioned the idea of F&O Masterclass under the banner of CNBC_Awaaz, it seemed to be a very daunting task as a team to put together something that none of us had ever done before. But the phenomenal success story that has been crafted with the completion of Season 2 now, has been nothing short of a miracle! However, miracles don't happen! ?? This wouldn't have been possible without the incredible #teamwork, cross-functional #collaboration, and unwavering dedication of the entire team. From the initial #brainstorming sessions to the flawless execution, all of us from completely different functions came together seamlessly. We leveraged our own unique #strengths, creating a synergy that powered us to unprecedented heights. The spirit of collaboration is truly what sets a team apart and fuels success. It's also a testament of the amazing culture of an organization, where support, open communication, and a shared vision are the cornerstones of everything that is done! ? I'm immensely proud of what we've achieved together. But what excites me even more is the future. Today is the day!! We’ve been planning this for several months and it’s finally here. The Skyllful team has descended on DFW for a few days of learning and fun. Throughout the day today, four groups of Skyllful team members will spend anywhere from a couple of hours to a full shift shadowing frontline workers in four different scenarios. 1. Food and beverage distribution 2. Technology field services 3. Retail grocery 4. Retail teleco Why are we doing this? Because if you’ve suffered any of my posts on LinkedIn over the years, you know that I believe you cannot innovate for the field from a conference room! You must get out in the field to see a day in the life of the women and men we support. This isn’t just something we say. It’s part of who we are as a company. So today, please excuse the Skyllful team if our response time is a little slower than usual. We are stepping out of our comfort zone so we can experience things from a different vantage point. So that we can learn and become better at what we do. So that we can serve YOUR frontline team members better tomorrow. So that we can help you achieve YOUR digital adoption goals with your teams. Have you been disappointed in your offsites recently? Perhaps you’ve gotten tripped up by some common myths… Often when I work with CEOs to design and facilitate their offsites, I am met by myths that take us off track. I want to unpack a few of these common misconceptions to help you host executive offsites that drive alignment, connection, and results. ??????????’?? ????????: ???????????????????? ?????? ?????? ???????? ???? ???? ??????-???????? ?????? ???? ??????????????. ????????: ???????????????????? ?????? ?????? ???????? ?????? ???? ???? ??????-???????? ?????? ???? ??????????????. When you bring your exec team together, it’s expensive. ?? We often think of the expense in terms of the room you’re renting, travel fees, food, activities. But the real expense is your executive’s time and the opportunity cost of having them working ???? the business instead of ???? the business. This expense is necessary if you want to create a healthy team and alignment across your organization, but you best make the most of that time. When executives roll into an offsite unprepared, without having done any reflection, the conversations can meander, be frustrating, and ultimately, not get you where you need to go. This costs valuable time and eats at team morale. However, when you design pre-work that allows the executives to reflect on what challenges they are facing, what they’re trying to accomplish, and how the team can best support them, they enter your offsite primed and ready to engage. It’s important to be thoughtful about the type and amount of pre-work you give, but when you’re clear on the purpose of the offsite and what you want to be different as a result of it, you can design preparatory materials that drive toward those outcomes. Still basking in the afterglow of having the whole company in town for offsites. We can debate ad nauseam about remote vs hybrid vs in-person, but here are?a few reflections I hold deeply to be true as I reintegrate my experience: ?? People are the single most important thing that determine whether companies succeed & fail. We say this a lot at gem. It's why our mission is to help companies build great teams. But I always live & feel this the most deeply in my core when I get to spend time in person with the whole team. ?? Getting together in-person is crucial for building culture, connection, and trust. Especially when some folks are remote. There's simply no substitute for face-to-face time. ?? For generative & creative work (brainstorms, offsites, etc.), there's something special about doing that in person, and seeing the ideas spark & fly. Folks chiming in without having to worry so much about coming off mute or awkwardly speaking over each other. ?? "Watercooler" moments are real. I learned 2 new things about our customers in just 2-3 minutes talking to an Enterprise AE and a CSM in the kitchen who were visiting from out of town. And the three of us feel closer for it. Gets me thinking about whether it's even possible to recreate this virtually somehow??? For now though, I'm just excited to continue getting the entire company together every quarter, because magic happens when we're all together in person. This was such a phenomenal week, and I couldn't be more grateful to Samuel Rhyan?, Grace Lancaster?, and?Lindsey Ackerman? and so many more for making it possible!?

Today, I’m celebrating five incredible years at The Loading Dock! It’s been a wild ride, and I’m excited to share (finally!) that I stepped into the role of President back in March. You might wonder why it took me five months to make this announcement; and the truth is, I doubted myself. In January, after months of restructuring, I told our founder that I felt I needed to step away—that the company needed someone with more experience to lead us through the challenges ahead. I doubted my ability to manage our finances, heal a fractured team, and rebuild trust and joy within our culture. I wasn’t sure I could juggle all the spinning plates. Thankfully, Philip Freeman didn’t ask me to leave. Instead, he listened and held space for my fears, but most importantly, invested in executive coaching for me. Through daily reflections and guidance from my coach, Janie Brooks, I began to shift my mindset. Slowly but surely, I rediscovered my voice and started to believe in my ability to help turn the ship around. What once felt like insurmountable challenges became opportunities. Our team leaned in, committed to rebuilding, and together, we developed a playbook that fortified our culture, mission, vision, and values. We refined our hiring practices to ensure the right people were in the right seats, and we simplified our focus to three goals around team health, financial health, and member experience. When I was ready to throw in the towel, our team stepped up to the plate. Collectively, we’ve rebuilt our culture, strengthened the health of the company, and—most importantly—brought FUN back into our day-to-day. As I embark on my sixth year at The Loading Dock, I couldn’t be more excited for our future. This place inspires good, sets the table for connection, and cultivates an ecosystem of professional support. Its honestly a REALLY cool organization that I get to be a small part of. Over the past weekend I was delighted to be invited to present the closing keynote presentation and two breakout sessions for a large Home Care franchise organization. We were talking about "Lessons from the Mega Companies," a series of seven lessons we have compiled from ten years of working with some of the largest independent home care companies. We were talking about crafting a culture of attraction and accomplishment. I shared this observation: "People who want to work... Don't want to work ... With people who don't want to work." Part of this process of crafting your company culture is to attract people who are aligned with your vision and values, and who really do want to do the work. People are turned off when they see others around them who are not aligned with the vision and values of your company, or who don't want to work. What is your experience working with people who don't' want to work?

During doldrum seasons at work, implementing mechanisms for continuous feedback and improvement initiatives is vital to maintaining momentum and fostering a culture of growth. Regularly scheduled feedback sessions, such as one-on-one meetings and team reviews, allow for open communication and the identification of areas needing improvement. Utilizing anonymous surveys Is another way to encourage candid feedback from all employees. In addition, establishing cross-functional teams to brainstorm and implement improvement projects can lead to innovative solutions and increased engagement. By continuously analyzing performance metrics and encouraging a proactive approach to problem-solving, we can ensure that the organization remains dynamic and poised for success, even during slower periods. The Recipe for a Great Work Culture ????? As summer progresses, there's something irresistible about dining out in restaurants. Perhaps it's the warm weather that draws us out, making us crave a good 'ole meal under the open sky. The other night, I had the pleasure of experiencing just that with my family at The Pitmaster Show—an incredible evening where food and entertainment blend perfectly. What struck us most wasn't just the next-level food but the staff. They were incredibly nice, professional, and radiated an infectious energy of loving what they do. That’s when it hit me: This is what it means to have a great work culture. So, what is culture, really? According to Google, "Culture is a concept that encompasses the social behavior, institutions, and norms found in human societies, as well as the knowledge, beliefs, arts, laws, customs, capabilities, and habits of the individuals in these groups." Not all cultures fit everyone. It’s up to each individual to embrace the culture and harmonize with it. It was clear to me that The Pitmaster Show had crafted a phenomenal work culture. Every team member was a crucial part of the vibrant community they had created. Here’s a message to candidates and companies alike: A solid work culture is a cornerstone of your success and will resonate with your customers.
