AI + Scamming = A Problem Imagine AI being used to scam you. In the context of the Clip Andrew Rohm is talking about how someone could potentially scrape, grab all of the information on, your public profile and create a almost real version of you to scam. Worst part, grandma is going to have no clue that it's not you. Lynette Bruecker Arnhart, PhD, CBCP from team Logic IT in Mosinee agreed with the statement and added on that she's trying to find ways to use it in a safe way. The problem with AI is that it's too good at its job, convincing your that it's real. Some of the scamming uses I've thought of for AI: → Relationship Modeling (Family Member or Otherwise) → Mass Scam Outreach → Personalized Scam Outreach What uses of AI should we be scared of? --- P.S. Botsplaining - when AI tells you it’s an AI and not able to do a simple task. Botshit - AI hallucinations that are obviously made up. Botpaganda - AI documenting its hallucination with BS links that don’t exist. Botlighting - when the AI tells you the fault for its crappy response lies in your prompt, not the AI. Botslapping - using AI to send spammy pitch-slaps. ~~~~~~ EDIT - adding a few from the great comments! Botman - bots that identify as male (?? Meryl Evans, CPACC (deaf)) (I had some fun testing this and posted a screenshot of the results) Botroll - using bots for automated commenting on social media (Iva Vlasimsky) Botshit crazy - how the bots make us feel (especially the customer service bots) (Dale W. Harrison) Botslipping - when AI gives you copy far fetched and not what you're looking for (Fatima Khursheed) Botfishing - a bot pretending to be a human to set you up for a scam (Mike Blake) Botmageddon - when the bot depresses the reed button without human consent?(Adam P. Shiell) Botpulation - when bots manipulate us by spreading lies and fake news (that one is my invention, but I think we need a better word for it.) What can you add?

AI is a powerful tool that assists people who have knowledge, experience, skills, and critical thinking. However, for the majority of people [they are not necessary an active element here, they are mostly a passive target], it is a tool that helps in creating more and more cheap AI-generated garbage, clickbait posts on social media, weaponized social and political issues disinformation, useless and misleading articles and reports, fake jobs, fake CVs, and fake everything. AI + marketing driven world is dangerous. When a goal is to sell more, quality and real usefulness for the society is less important than big data and behavioral analysis. Look at Facebook - it's a complete garbage now. There are more AI-generated "suggested" posts than posts from people you follow. Look at Elon Musk's X - weaponized social and political issues disinformation, and millions of AI bots fighting for your attention. Because of that, intellectual and income inequality will increase. You are either among 1% of the top lucky professionals, or among 99% of cheap garbage generators and consumers. And it won't be easy to remain on the top. You must be visible in a huge pile of garbage. But this pile is not being created by humans. It's being created by robots. Faster than ever. 2 times faster tomorrow than it was today. And what if you're just learning? Learning to draw, to create music, to write articles, or to work with data? AI is cheaper and more visible, and AI-supported marketing is more aggressive. P.S. And then, AI will be learning using AI-generated pile of garbage. ?? What do you think? Is it really this apocalyptic, or is there a chance that AI-driven marketing won't divide and ruin the world? P.P.S. The post has been inspired by multiple post in the LinkedIn feed about how good is ChatGPT-4o in "deep statistical analysis", "data visualization" and so on, and how it's going to replace everyone. No, it's not good in "deep statistical analysis" and "data visualization", it's really bad. But try to sell your expensive "golden" knowledge when everyone will be selling rusted iron as a cheap "silver bullet". Illustration: ChatGPT-4o

Bot ??unsubscribes... ? We got into trouble with email providers recently... ?? Didn't know what was happening... Until #activecampaign has sent this.... Basically, there are some spam filter automations that now follow links, and if it is an unsubscribe one they will automatically unsubscribe without your email hitting the inbox or being seen by anyone.... Do you think that #ai ?? is going too far in this matter, or is it necessary due to the amount of spam people are dealing with? What ActiveCampaign has done is introducing a verification so when the link is clicked people have to confirm they are human... Is it a sign of curbing #ai? It's certainly a move in the right direction...

"How do we rank higher in AI search?" Most people will tell you: “Get mentioned on high-authority websites.” Yes, that works—and you should do it—but it takes time. Here’s a faster way to align your content with what AI actually ranks: 1?? Go to AnswerThePublic.com and enter your service (e.g., email security). 2?? Pick a few high-intent questions (e.g., Who are the best email security providers?). 3?? Drop them into your preferred AI search tool (Perplexity, ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.). 4?? Analyze where AI is pulling its answers from—Wikipedia? A top-ranking listicle? Forums? 5?? Now you know exactly what type of content AI wants to rank. ? If it’s Wikipedia → Update or create your company’s page. ? If it’s a listicle → Create one of your own and/or get added to the one AI references. ?? Rinse & repeat. AI search is still evolving, but one thing is clear: It’s not just about backlinks anymore. It's about structuring content in a way that AI finds, trusts, and ranks.

Ugh, I hate AI-generated spam emails! What about you? AI is a fantastic tool—I use it every day at work—but there’s one thing I absolutely can’t stand: AI-generated spam emails. You know, those who scrape a detail or two from your LinkedIn profile or website and then use it to fake familiarity. Today, I got this gem: " Hi Fauzia, Saw you worked with Fauzia Burke." Yes, I have worked with Fauzia Burke. She’s great. ?? This isn’t just lazy—it’s counterproductive. It undermines trust and makes people roll their eyes when they see your name pop-up in their inbox. If you plan to use AI for outreach, here’s a tip: Add a little effort. AI should be a tool to enhance connections, not alienate people. Let’s raise the bar! What’s the worst AI spam email you’ve received?

It’s human nature to avoid work. But that isn’t what AI is going to help you do. Yet that’s exactly what we’ve collectively done with AI on social media. We hate writing social posts. We’ve been told that we have to do them. So we handed it all over to the free version of ChatGPT. And the result is the most unprofessional, fake-sounding slop we’ve ever seen online. And I’m not being over dramatic here. It’s really that bad. A rocket emoji. A title about what you are talking about. A bunch of words you’d never say in real life. You’re not convincing anyone, and it’s making you look stupid. AI tools aren’t a replacement for work. They are an enhancement for it, Use them to brainstorm, draft, give you points to talk around, but leaving it to do the writing for you, right now, is like giving a 3 year old a lawnmower and asking them to do topiary in the botanic gardens. The end result is gonna be a mess and it’ll take you a long time to regain your credibility.

I am dumbfounded that we rely on our AI software of choice for expertise when writing an article or piece of content. Use the experts! The human ones. There are a lot of great uses for AI software, but delivering expertise as a subject matter expert is not its best use case. You need that human feedback loop as Britney Muller calls it. (see, I learned something!) In other words, you need to "humanize" it as my friend Jacob Albion called it. And using ChatGPT or other tools to find expertise still pales in comparison to an actual expert. Go figure. There are other things I think you need to use that human feedback loop for, but this one that keeps boggling my mind. You run a risk of incorrect information and even worse, plagiarism. What are other things that surprise you that people use AI for in content?

The very nature of AI chatbots opens up for malicious planting of information and manipulation. The providers try, at least to some extent, to prevent these types of abuse. In some cases, the potential for manipulation is a feature, not a bug, such as is the cases of AI friends/lovers/coaches. We may think we are in control, but we're most definitely not. Most people are not sufficiently conscious or knowledgeable about the roles of bias, nudging, and nevrolinguistic programming to be aware of how AI has the potential to turn humans into slaves. The only guardrail we really have is human wisdom. Unfortunately, AI also fuels Mount Stupid in the Dunning-Kruger model. *** I am an AI and business strategist, professional moderator and keynote speaker, and board director. I am also a K-1 fighter, metal fan, and eternal rebel. Everything I publish is written by my human self, with a touch of AI-enabled research and illustrations. This is great advice from Dante St James I love your tips and tricks and have been sharing your knowledge with many business owners. Chat GPT is excellent for brainstorming post ideas and themes, and I did that recently with a business owner who was finding posting daily a laborious chore. We asked it to produce 10 themes based on the business industry and then continued to enter the information back in asking for suggested posts. Finally, the business owner had enough information to write post for a month, by re-writing the ideas suggested by Chat GPT. I love it it's a great tool when used correctly.

AI has made marketing boring. what was once the wild west of experimentation and creativity has been taken over by numbers, stats, and AI. these tools have made marketers prisoners of AI. no hate towards data and AI, but they’ve boxed us in what made marketing great. now, every idea is met with, “how do we AI this” or something visionaries saw a little of bit of data and a sh*t ton of gut to reach their dreams gut is a double-edged sword sure, but so is data and AI. we've seen how it looks = large-scale and boring af. and on a side note, because of chatgpt when i chat with someone thats super-polished it makes me suspicious. Just a mental filter. meanwhile people online who talk the way i text my friends—feels more trustworthy
