?? Reflecting on the MIT-KU BioMed Innovation Mini Course???? October 16th - 18th, 2024 I was honored to participate in the MIT-KU BioMed Innovation Mini Course, a collaborative initiative by Kenyatta University (KU) Biomedical Engineering Sub-Department and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). This course was a skill-building, eye-opening and intriguing journey through the process of Biomedical innovation—from initial design and prototyping to data gathering and analysis. We practically focused on implementing Pulse Oximeter, Electrocardiogram, and Syringe Pump technologies using breadboard prototypes and PCB designs. This hands-on approach allowed me to gain invaluable skills in data-driven design for healthcare innovation. I’m incredibly grateful to the MIT instructors, Nevan Clancy Hanumara, PhD and Leroy Sibanda, for their unmatched expertise and dynamic course delivery. Heartfelt thanks also go to KU, June Madete, duncan kamau, Augustine Waswa, and Janiffer Nyambura for creating this wonderful learning opportunity. Looking forward to applying these insights and contributing to impactful biomedical solutions! #BiomedicalInnovation #MITKU #PulseOximeter #ECG #SyringePump #DataDrivenDesign #Innovation #grateful
