A story, featuring #companyculture. I was walking around the Dallas office today, and stopped by the office of a Very Important Company Person to say hello and catch up. Then the CEO of the entire company, who I have never met, pops in. He shakes my hand, and I introduce myself. To the other Very Important Company Person, he says "I want to have a beard like Corey one day". And we all big laugh. Ok. To have a CEO Beard Compliment- that is awesome. To have a work environment where we can laugh and enjoy one another's company- that is awesome. To have a leadership team that is So. Very. Approachable. That love good ideas. That are excited about the build. That are excited to work with people like me. It doesn't get more awesome. I guess what I'm saying is that OBE is awesome. The end :) #nowhiring #OBE #recruiting #recruitinglife #companyculture #recruitingdifferently

I got the CMO job at Wooly in the most interesting of ways... I knew I wanted to stay in tech, but I wanted to test the waters of start-up life. So I started exploring companies in Utah that fit the mold and then started reaching out to the hiring manager (often times the Founder // CEO). CRICKETS. I knew if I was going to get in somewhere special, I'd need to find a way to connect with the Founder in a new way. Sending in resumes and bland LinkedIn DM's just wasn't going to cut it. So I pitched an article to #UtahBusiness: "People are fascinated with tech, start-up, and the founders behind the companies. Let me interview these founders and specifically explore their weird side hustles and passion projects. It will give your readers a new view on some of their favorite Utah leaders." They bit. I now had my trojan horse to get inside the walls of these companies. And sure enough... I got face-to-face interviews with every person on my list. I came into each interview well prepared about their founder story, the business as a whole, and a handful of ways I believed I could create an impact as their marketing leader. And sure enough... after every "interview" for Utah Business, I shifted the conversation towards their marketing prowess and the potential of teaming up together. And sure enough... I was working as the CMO of Wooly before the story was published. (Link shared in comments below) For those of you on the hunt for a new job: think outside the box, find a way to get in front of your ideal companies, and keep pushing. You got this!

Whoa… It’s pretty awesome when you get a call from a Europe-based owner-operator real estate firm that “heard about you…” AND Wants to connect about partnering with them to build and recruit the top real estate leaders to join their team within their United States portfolio. YES!? That recently happened. I never thought in a million years I’d be saying that. Yet, opportunities are presenting themselves. I’m a big believer that if it makes sense -? find a way to make it happen and say yes! We all have opportunities that present themselves in ways we never thought of. Don’t miss them. If you say “heck yes,” then find a way and go for it. Life is full of abundance. ?????? ???????? ???? ?????? ???????????? ???? ???????? ???????? ???? ???????????????? ??????????????????. Either way, you will either learn from it or grow through it. Oh, have I told you yet? I LOVE my job.? You guys are so inspirational, and it’s a privilege to hear your career stories. Following your journey brings me so much joy. Happy connecting and building intentional relationships with you all! What opportunities have been presented to you in life that made you decide I’m going to go for it? #opportuntites #realestate #hiring #abundantmentality #recruiting

Take every chance you get - it may only come once. Sometimes, you need to take a chance. Life is like a series of doors. Imagine walking down a hallway with doors on each side. Sometimes, you need to step through a door, not knowing exactly what's on the other side. You owe it to yourself to explore the opportunity. I would never have: --Founded two companies --Posted consistently on LinkedIn --Changed careers multiple times --Left a secure Fortune 500 role to join a startup --Gone skydiving and Rocky Mountain climbing --Lasted 2.7 seconds on a bull named Fu Man Chu?? [I threw in the last two to see if you were paying attention] [I am from Nashville.] You get the picture. You owe it to yourself to take the risk because you never get that opportunity again. Shoot your shot with no regret. Positivity plays a huge role in this process. You attract the right people and keep your confidence. What did you do the last time you took a risk?

I moved to Texas from Ohio - mostly because I hated snow and cold. I still do. However when it snows in the south, there's this incredible experience of seeing snow through someone else's lens. There's a snowman on every lawn - sledding on every hill. The city slows down for a moment. It's magical. It's now one of the things I revel in - though I don't want to be buried up to my windshield. The thing about diversity is you get to experience things through someone else's eyes. You get a different perspective. Companies committed to diversity show a 39 percent increased likelihood of outperformance?for those in the top quartile. (McKinsey, 2024.) As a "more seasoned" sales person- I've seen a thing or two, or twenty. I've been told more than once "That's actually a great idea, Suzanne." (The "actually" makes it a backhanded compliment, but I'll take it because they were a great ideas!) Just like your stock portfolio - diversifying your hiring is very good for your bottom line. It's just smart business. So let's talk!! #sales #bottomline #youGROWgirl #womeninsales #diversitymatters #DEI

Stop and ask yourself this question.. … whether you're a founder, employee or anywhere in-between. Does everyone around me know my goals and mission? Last week, my Miami clinic manager recently needed more space. We'd outgrown our current location, and she'd been frustrated trying to secure additional room from our retail partner. Turns out, we hadn't made our need for expansion clear to the store manager. After a quick conversation, we found the perfect solution – an unused space they were happy to give us...for free. No build out, no long term lease. Just a quick and easy solution. This was a powerful reminder: Get crystal clear on your short and long-term goals. Then, make sure everyone around you knows them. You'd be surprised how this can: -Attract the right opportunities -Solve major problems -Connect you with the right people This strategy has helped me during my career to land promotions, hire amazing talent, and solve countless business challenges. What big problems are you tackling this week? Share them below ??

If you want to see REAL hustle, grit, money hungry go getters, just go to Times Square. The other day, I was taking some family members there when my husband said “wow, look how many hustles there are going on.” As he said, people were chasing the mighty dollar, grilling hot dogs inhaling so much smoke under unbearably hot and humid conditions. In Times Square, people aren’t afraid to set up a booth and entice people to stop in for a 360 video. In Times Square, people wear stifling gorilla or Disney costumes or the opposite, naked cowboys/cowgirls walk around the square trying to encourage a photo for a few bucks. People literally scream at customers to persuade them to watch a comedy show or to hop into the backseat of their pedicab. Contrast that to the eerie quiet of the sales floor some days and it’s a damn shame. Most people aren’t hitting their call times, chasing clients/candidates down, bc they feel they’re being “too aggressive”. Plus, you got the regular complainers and excuse makers. But, here and there, you’ll see the shining stars in the office. And boy are they grinding. Grind on, the market is yours for the taking bc there are too many people asleep at the wheel. It ain’t Times Square in many of these air conditioned hallways. #hustle #nyc #newyork #grind #sales #agencyrecruitment #recruiting #selling #careertips
