Consumer Duty Champion | R-Day ?? = Better Outcomes for 92% of Workers | Helping CEOs & Workers become Net Zero Heroes
#CaringIsSharing ?? Culture Failure is at record breaking limits. I do believe in the Capital Markets, however, it persistently performs against the Best Financial Interest of Society. I do not believe in a socialist economy, the evidence of waste of Taxpayer money is criminal, and yet no one ever stands trial from Whitehall, and Politicians are allowed to bare face lie to Voters and Taxpayers across every single issue that subsequently becomes a mass scandal years down the line. At the centre of every massive scandal are unethical legal experts being paid vast sums of Taxpayer money, to cover up Corruption, which compounds the losses to the Taxpayer when Restitution Day arrives. Only the Taxpayer should determine what happens with their money, and at no stage would 13m Taxpayers agree for their Taxes to be spent lining the pockets of unethical legal folk who are causing them harm! A Conflict of Interest has been at the centre of every single major scandal and at the center of every major scandal there is a Law Firm ignoring their Code Ethics in order to line it's pockets. There is often a complicit Judge too. So it's TIME TO ADDRESS THE CULTURE FAILURE ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM. #RDay ?? #BUOM #ConsumerDuty #JusticeMatters

England's water industry is controlled by companies with a large number of criminal convictions. I provided evidence in parliament, proposed that companies with more than 2 convictions in 5 yrs must face special administration and may lose their licence to operate. Labour government and the Conservative party opposed the suggestion. Seemingly, they are content for criminal organisations to control vital services and abuse people. https://lnkd.in/ek2MsvGu

Another interesting solar case which demonstrates some of the tensions between achieving Net Zero targets and preserving the best and most versatile agricultural land for food production. Lullington Solar Park questioned the validity of the inspector’s decision to dismiss its appeal under section 78 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 Act against the refusal by South Derbyshire District Council to grant planning permission for a 49.9MW solar farm near Lullington. The inspector attached significant weight to the provision of clean electricity from the solar farm and moderate weight to biodiversity gains, landscape benefits and job creation, but found the harm of lost food production would be of greater significance and so conflict with the development plan and the National Planning Policy Framework. The planning inspector accepted it was not practicable or reasonable to investigate every possible location for a solar farm within a wide study area or incumbent on appellants to demonstrate that there are no possible alternatives to an application site. However, he concluded that the assessment was deficient because no soil investigation was completed other than on the appeal site and as a result he concluded the assessment was not robust. The Court upheld the inspector's decision finding that the high threshold of irrationality had not been reached. Tughans LLP #environment #climatechange #solarenergy https://lnkd.in/evervcB8

PFAS is a huge problem today and for a long time to come. The recent PFAS legal cases in Sweden (Uppsala and Ronneby) show that the law is not updated to deal with problems like PFAS with the polluter pays principle (PPP) when it is ultimately the taxpayers who are both the victims and those who pay the bill. This is a gigantic systemic failure and we need urgent political change! Read our article in the Conversation #AnnaThomasson #BethParker and have your say: https://lnkd.in/d-6xCjEC

Chairman & Founding Partner Built Environment Consultancy, Experienced NED, Ocean Activist, Housing Campaigner, All views my own.
As ruled by the High Court last year, in 2022 78% of all sewage discharges by the water companies were due to a lack of investment (lack of capacity) and a lack of maintenance. Another 21% of discharges are "under investigation". None of them were due to "exceptional rainfall". On the basis that “exceptional rainfall” is the only legal trigger for such discharges, why aren’t all of the water companies facing prosecution and/or action for failing to comply with the terms of their operating licences? What is the explanation please Environment Agency and Ofwat? #sewagescandal #sickofsewage

Curious to hear people's thoughts and opinions: Where do we put it? How do we get it all out of buildings without knocking them down? What about the increased exposure of this generation tasked to remove it at an enhanced rate? If we implemented existing legislation and guidance effectively and witnessed greater enforcement and consequences of non compliance should exposure even be an issue? Do we currently manage, remove, test and inspect asbestos well and safely enough to ramp up removal?
PARLIAMENTARY DEBATE: February 27, 2024 Sir Stephen Timms: "the assumption that leaving asbestos in place is better than removing it is increasingly questionable as the asbestos ages." https://lnkd.in/e_S5cS6Z #asbestos #parliament
