October was breast cancer awareness month, but on #TeamAmex, we are continuing to prioritize this topic year-round. This week, our Healthy Living team hosted a powerful fireside chat with our very own Chief Marketing Officer and two-time breast cancer survivor,?Elizabeth Rutledge,?and Breast Cancer Oncologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer?Center,?Dr. Sherry Shen. The conversation was moderated by Amex Vice President of Global Well-being & Benefits,?Tammy?Yee, who is also a two-time breast cancer survivor. With their combined experience and knowledge, these three women discussed risk factors, shared personal stories about how they navigated their diagnoses, the realities of treatment, and so much more.? ? When asked about the hardest part of her journey, Elizabeth said “…it was knowing when and how to ask for help. Those are not easy discussions – especially as a mom, and a leader. But I feel very fortunate to have had an incredible community of people – my family, my friends, and my colleagues – to support me through it all.”? ?
