Our children are worth infinitely more than paper money, yet our laws treat them as less. When someone embezzles money, they face long jail sentences. But when a child's life is stolen through trafficking, the consequences are often far less severe. It's time to value our children as the priceless beings they are and demand justice that truly reflects the gravity of this crime. Have you heard that bail reform is causing crime across the US? In the 2022 election cycle, many government officials, media outlets and politicians claimed that bail reform (and orgs like The Bail Project) were responsible for rising violence and crimes. Some candidates actually won elections on this platform (see: Barnes v. Johnson for Senate in Wisconsin). Expect this again in 2024. The problem? It's simply not true. In a new comprehensive study comparing 33 cities across the U.S., the Brennan Center found that there was no statistically significant relationship between bail reform and crime rates. Personal commentary~ Every relative and so-called 'friend' who supports him has cut ties with me. Every single one. I didn't even need to confront most of them—just one. The rest disappeared because they couldn’t handle that I speak out about systemic racism all the time. It made them uncomfortable. In truth, it’s been a powerful way to see who my true friends are. I’m fortunate enough to choose not to surround myself with people who are willing to let the civil rights of my fellow human beings be stripped away. I’d rather stand alone than stand with those who would tolerate such injustice. Understand that not everybody has that privilege. Sure, the consequences have been harsh, but they are nothing compared to my Black, brown, African-American, Indigenous brothers and sisters must endure every single day here in the USA. So yeah, I fully support this post. If you are famous and have an audience, then you have a responsibility to speak out. Disclaimer ~ Please note that my work focuses on educating 'white' individuals on how to live an antiracist lifestyle. I fully acknowledge that this is a journey, not an overnight transformation—quite the opposite, in fact. I am committed to meeting people wherever they are in their understanding and walking alongside them, no matter how steep or long the path may be. The key is a genuine desire to care and learn. As long as that willingness is there, I’ll be with them every step of the way.

I recently learned of a vital way to help with the #2024campaign. #Ballot #curing - a way to help correct voters' honest mistakes - e.g., forgotten signatures, incomplete markings. This isn't manipulative - especially among first-time and elderly voters, where details get overlooked. If you're looking for a way to get involved (even after 11/5), and you're uncertain how/where to turn for ways other than phone banking or canvassing, this is an important option. Without curing, hundreds of statewide or thousands, nationally basis, will be rejected because of simple, correctable errors.
