During this time of year, I can’t help but feel deep gratitude for my parents, who left everything behind to come to this great nation. It was the American Dream, where anything is possible, that allowed the daughter of Mexican immigrants the opportunity to become the 43rd Treasurer of the United States. It’s hard to believe this November marks 15 years since I first saw my signature appear on U.S. currency. As Chair for #America250, I want everyone to feel that same sense of opportunity. I’m sharing this all with you because our stories matter. That’s why we've launched Our American Story—the largest national effort to compile an oral history of the United States. Over the next year, we want to hear your stories, ideas, and voices. Please take a moment to nominate one of history’s unsung champions, whose legacy is integral to the fabric of our nation. https://lnkd.in/ecUr_EEC
