Xiomara Varas, Recruitment Business Partner, discovered that employee resource groups are more than just networks - they're catalysts for career transformation and community impact. "At Amazon, I've discovered the incredible power of employee communities through our 13 employee-led groups, which connect Amazonians across the globe. Being part of launching the Latinos @ Amazon South Florida chapter in 2023 has been one of my most rewarding experiences. As Director of Professional Development, I've had the privilege of combining my recruitment expertise with my passion for Latino career advancement. Together with my dedicated committee of three Amazonians, we've created and delivered over 30 career development initiatives that have reached more than 300 members. One of our proudest achievements is our mentorship program, which has already contributed to two member promotions in 2024. Seeing our committee's efforts drive a 30% year-over-year growth in group membership reinforces the impact we're making. This leadership role has not only expanded my Amazon network but has also allowed me to make a meaningful difference in our Latino community.
