In all seriousness, education on the industry itself. Most people don’t even think about this industry when it comes to careers unless they were exposed to it somehow. We work hard at getting people out there using the product but nothing much goes into promoting the industry as a career path. Also, once they get into the industry, education on how the industry works. We are not a cookie-cutter industry. When you think of investing, your mind probably jumps to stocks, bonds, or real estate—standard assets designed to build wealth. But here’s the twist: almost anything can be an investment if you find the right buyer at the right time. Let me share a story that flipped my perception of value. In my twenties, I splurged on a pair of Alexander McQueen shoes ?? (if you know, you know) At the time, they felt like a reward, a luxury indulgence. Fast forward to McQueen’s untimely passing, and his designs soared in value. Those shoes? I sold them for three times what I paid. What started as a fashion statement became an unexpected capital growth investment. You can imagine my smugness at 24 explaining this to my conservative dad! ?? This story taught me a powerful lesson: investments don’t have to be conventional. While income-producing assets like rental properties or dividend stocks deliver steady returns, capital growth can come from unexpected places. Luxury goods, collectibles, art—if they appreciate over time and someone’s willing to pay, they count as investments. But here’s where investing gets really interesting. Income-producing assets: rental properties, dividend stocks, or even owning an Airbnb, are all about consistency, giving you predictable cash flow. In contrast, capital growth investments, whether designer shoes, rare art, or even cryptocurrencies—thrive on timing, demand, and market shifts. As Warren Buffett famously said, “Price is what you pay, value is what you get.” This rings true not just for stocks or real estate but also for those less conventional investments….like my Alexander McQueen shoes. Take Airbnb, for example. Who could’ve predicted that renting out a spare room would spark a global empire? The principle is the same ?? seeing potential in everyday assets. Ultimately, it’s about balance. There’s no one-size-fits-all strategy in investing, but the key is to keep an open mind. Investments aren’t limited to what Wall Street tells you. Sometimes, value is hiding in plain sight, waiting for the right moment to reveal itself. So, keep an eye out; the next hidden gem might be right under your nose!
