Less than 200 miles from the South American continent sits #Grenada—a tropical paradise whose vibrant culture & variegated coastlines make it the crown jewel of the Caribbean. Currently ranked as one of the Top 25 Travel Destinations of 2025, here's just some of what makes Grenada a "must" for those touring the West Indies: GRAND ANSE BEACH — One of the island’s myriad beaches, (Grenada boasts more than forty-five different beaches), Grand Anse is easily among the most popular with both tourists & locals. Perhaps it’s the two-mile stretch of idyllic white sands or maybe it’s the calming effects of the turquoise-tinted waters, but a day at Grand Anse is unavoidable for anyone who loves themselves a good beach! ST. GEORGE'S — The capital of Grenada is known for its colorful buildings, bustling marketplaces, and historic forts. Visitors in search of good eats can spend hours wandering the streets in pursuit of the best callaloo soup or nutmeg ice cream. History buffs can explore both the legacy and views of Fort George, (whose storied history reflects the once French and British rule of island). And, for those who love fashion, storefronts like Art Fabrik are guaranteed to deliver the latest styles & trends! SPICE PLANTATIONS — Grenada's nickname of “The Spice Isle” comes from its centuries-long production of spices such as nutmeg, cinnamon, and cloves. Daytrips to plantations are encouraged as a means of educating visitors on the nation’s rich agricultural history as well as its widespread contributions to West Indian culture & cuisine. MOLINERE UNDERWATER SCULPTURE PARK — This nearly 20-year-old attraction offers snorkeling & diving tours of underwater sculptures depicting the history, culture and unity of Grenada. Over the course of the past two decades, the native wildlife has become seamlessly integrated with these art installations, making for an interactive experience unlike any other. Grenada's spirit, generosity, and natural beauty make it a destination that everyone should experience at least once in their life. So…pack your bags and get ready to set sail for this Caribbean wonderland! To learn more, contact Karen Quinn-Panzer or visit: https://lnkd.in/eJ5z5q5w #BookATripToday #Caribbean #WestIndies

This is a picture from yesterday’s sunset hike. Unfortunately, the clouds were so low and close to us, that we didn’t get to see the typical sunset color palette. The sight on the Apuan Alps was magnificent, though. For most people, the Alps are the northernmost mountain range in Italy. Apuan Alps are located in Tuscany, let’s say halfway from central to northern Italy, in an area where Apennines are most typical. As a matter of fact, the highest peak in the Apuan Alps doesn’t reach 2000 meters of elevation. The highest peaks in the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines are in the order of 2000, 2100 meters. Talking about elevation, Apuan Alps pale in comparison to the northern Alps. And talking about complexion, their typical stone-white color is one of the reasons they are called Alps. They are white, because they are made of marble. Of course you don’t see it from this picture, because mountains at horizon are always bluish. Another reason why there are Alps at such a short distance from Apennines, is because Apuan Alps are really challenging peaks, where you would most likely expect to meet tough as* climbers rather than Sunday hikers. (I love how this expression translates straightforwardly into Italian: escursionisti della domenica). Some peak names: Pania Secca, Monte Pisanino, Monte Cavallo, Monte Contrario, Pizzo d’Uccello, Pizzo delle Saette. Ever been there? (Pic was taken on the way to Monte Sillano).

Tales with Jarm Volume 4: Do you like hiking or taking in breath taking views? One hidden gem of U.S. national parks is North Cascades National Park in Washington State. Known for its dramatic alpine scenery, it's often called the "American Alps." Despite its jaw-dropping beauty—glacier-capped peaks, turquoise lakes, and lush forests—it sees fewer visitors compared to more famous parks like Yellowstone or Yosemite. What makes it a hidden gem: Solitude: Fewer crowds mean you can enjoy nature in peace. Hiking Paradise: Over 400 miles of trails, ranging from easy walks to challenging backcountry routes. The Corinth Canal, though only completed in the late 19th century, was an idea and dream that’s dates back over 2000 thousand years. It saves the 700-kilometers (430 mi) journey around the Peloponnese! The strip of land that connects the Peloponnese and mainland Greece is called the “Isthmus”. At its narrowest point, it is only 4 miles wide, and in ancient times, one could see from one side to the other. #sailingship?#tallship?#luxurycruises?#smallshipcruises?#yachtlifestyle?#yachtholiday?#romantictravel?#dreamsailing?#truesailing?#luxurysailing?#luxurycruises?#boutiquecruises?#tallshipcruises?#greekcruises?#luxurysailingmegayacht?#luxurysailingcharter?#luxuryyachtcharter?#luxurysailingboat?#superyacht?#shipcharter?#luxurytravel?#travelgreece

Tahiti's black sand beaches are a captivating contrast to the island's turquoise waters and lush greenery. Formed from volcanic activity, these unique beaches offer a dramatic and otherworldly landscape. Here's what makes Tahiti's black sand beaches so special: Volcanic Origins: Tahiti is a volcanic island, and the black sand beaches are a result of volcanic eruptions and lava flow meeting the ocean. The volcanic minerals give the sand its distinctive black color. Unique Aesthetic: The contrast between the black sand and the vibrant blue waters of the Pacific Ocean creates a stunning visual contrast. Photographers and nature lovers are drawn to the striking beauty of these beaches. Natural Beauty: Despite their dark hue, Tahiti's black sand beaches are incredibly beautiful and serene. Rich History: In addition to their natural beauty, black sand beaches hold cultural significance for the Polynesian people. They are often associated with legends and myths, adding to their allure and mystique. Ecological Importance: Black sand beaches are important ecosystems that support a variety of marine life. Coral reefs and underwater formations provide habitat for diverse marine species, making them popular destinations for snorkeling and diving.
