A refurbished product can be a perfectly serviceable or even excellent option depending on the context. However, a refurbished rheology instrument is not the same as a new instrument. Repair costs and technology discrepancies are just a few of the many risks associated with choosing a refurbished instrument. Interesting discussion to have on the topic of Gravity displacement sterilizers. Seems many techs want to state that gravity displacement can ONLY achieve a 250F temperature parameter. We need to ask why that is? When so many gravity sterilizer manufacturers have their units able to achieve 274F. Why do techs go to only the part but not the whole of a topic? Most likely I believe it’s simply because they don’t use that specific equipment. So they shorten their knowledge base on the topic, as it’s not needed. But what happens if you change employers and end up having to use that type of unit? Will you only go by what you’re brain has remembered, or will you use it to its fullest potential? Heck, why do instrument and supply manufacturers do the same? Can’t count how many MIFU’s I’ve read where they state “250F” and sending in inquiries, they had no clue a gravity displacement unit could run at 274F.

What do you need to consider when calibrating a pressure switch? Pressure switches are very common instruments in the process industry and need to be calibrated to ensure their accuracy and reliability.?The wrong kind of calibration can cause many errors in the calibration result. ?? What are the advantages of in-situ calibration? ? In-situ calibration of measuring instruments is carried out in numerous industrial processes. ?? The main advantage is obvious: the instruments remain installed, so the process does not have to be opened. ?? A simple explanation on the difference between #calibration and #verification below.
This post is aligned with the scope of HeartBeat #technology and its connection to the terminology of both calibration and verification. Customers often use the terms "verification" and "calibration" interchangeably, which is technically incorrect. To eliminate this confusion, we will clarify the distinction through a detailed explanation and visual representation, ensuring a clear understanding of both concepts and how to use them accordingly. To clarify, verification is not the same as calibration. #Calibration, by definition, is the comparison of an instrument's measurements to a known standard to identify any measurement errors. It is important to note that calibration is purely a comparison process and does not involve making adjustments to the instrument. If any adjustments are made, the device must be recalibrated afterward. #Verification, on the other hand, is the provision of objective evidence that an instrument meets specified requirements, such as the Maximum Permissible Error (MPE). This can be defined by the manufacturer, a legal #metrology body, or an end user depending on the application. While calibration and verification share similarities, they also have distinct differences. Below is a comparison between calibration and Heartbeat verification: -Both calibration and HeartBeat verification are compliant with ISO 9001:2015 standards, ensuring #traceability. -Calibration requires external #testing equipment, such as Endress+Hauser Group mobile flow rig, and involves a thorough testing process with a depth exceeding 99%. However, this requires the flow meter to be removed from the #process, causing a temporary interruption. -HeartBeat verification, on the other hand, does not require process interruption or the removal of the meter. However, the testing depth reaches up to 95%, which is still substantial but slightly lower than calibration. This trade-off is reasonable, as illustrated by the French proverb: "On ne peut pas avoir le beurre et l'argent du beurre" (you can't have the butter and the money from selling it). From a cost perspective, verification is also more economical than calibration. I hope this explanation provides clarity and dispels any confusion surrounding the differences between verification and calibration.
