Really enjoyed learning about the self-management transformation of INDAERO GRUPO EMERGY SL by Corporate Rebels. ?? Welcome to another entry in my Manager's Diary at Lufthansa Systems. ??This time, our focus is on 'employee talks'. It's that period of the year where I engage in performance evaluation and career discussions with each team member. Lufthansa Systems Hungária emphasizes Team Health, so I've arranged for these discussions to take place at the project team level. This means I'll be having one-on-one chats with all project team members on the same day, preceded by a group workshop. Our workshop will revolve around the 'Hogan Dark Side Assessment' - which I learnt from Zita Nemeth MCC -, with the ultimate goal of raising awareness about potential derailers. This way, we aim to help our team recognize when someone, or even themselves, might be in the stress zone. ??Aside from this key focus, I also have a few important, yet lighter topics to share. I'm thrilled to announce that our unit is expanding, and we'll be welcoming a new colleague to our community this week. Additionally, Szilárd Bleszkán and I are planning a unit event to wrap up this employee talk period with smiles all around; stay tuned for more details! ?? Lastly, I've taken a few days off to recharge and ensure I bring the same level of energy and enthusiasm to each team member's discussion. If your New Years Resolution is to improve your skills as a fleet leader, then RTA's CEO Josh Turley has a story for you: "I was at a conference once, we were teaching about the five dysfunctions of a team, which is all about building a healthy organization and and having an amazing team to work with. And I had a fleet manager from a local municipality here come up to me afterwards. And she says, 'Josh, you don't understand. Nobody takes the time to teach us about this stuff.' "And when you're facing things like technician shortages and people quitting to go down to the dealership or they can make 12 bucks more an hour, culture is everything. Culture is what's going to keep those people happy. It's going to keep them engaged. It's going to keep them feeling connected to the purpose. "I can't think of anything worse than wasting my time, my life, right? The only time I have, you only live once. I can't think of anything worse than wasting that one life I've been given on work that I don't enjoy, right? And part of making sure that people enjoy work is having an intentional culture that they can rally around, that they enjoy being a part of where they can accomplish something greater than themselves." #newyearsresolution #fleetmanager #fleetmanagement
