After a fun start where everyone got their revenge on Dan, we kicked off our monthly negotiator meeting with updates, reviews, and most importantly, recognition. May, with its two bank holidays, wasn’t stellar for us, but Marie Emery stood out as the top salesperson for net sales in the South—a fantastic achievement! ?? In the Connells world, this year’s theme has been all about #MaximisingOpportunity. We dedicated most of our meeting to discussing how to move our business forward and aim for an incredible June. Looking around at the team we’ve built fills me with immense pride. We’re all in this together. As always, there was a lot of recognition for the top performers in my region. Dan and I set a clear challenge for the months ahead, with strong support from the regional team. We have a collective desire to achieve our goals, and together, there’s nothing we can’t accomplish in the agency world. Our half-year negotiator meeting will be at the start of July, where we’ll review not just June but the entire half-year. Seeing as it's Valentines today, we're showing some love to someone who truly deserves it... ?? I've been running separate competitions with my Growth Programme agencies the last few weeks to keep the momentum going with getting new business meetings booked in. It's not easy out there at the moment, but we still want to be working towards building strategic partnerships with our prospective client base. Yesterday the competition came to an end with 24-7 Staffing Limited. Everyone put their all in but there could only be one winner, and that was Jamie-Leigh Watts CertRP ??. 3 meetings booked in across a 2 week period with brand new clients - great progress! This wasn't just a tick box exercise, this was all about putting in place processes that lead to better relationships and an increased client base. You're only as good as your next deal. Valuing your team’s wins in the moment can be tricky. I recently posted about some hard feedback I received during a 360-degree review several years ago. People said I was grumpy and not approachable. I didn’t want that type of reputation, so I worked on improving it to benefit both myself and the company. Today, as a leader, I would ask to understand what was happening if I saw the same actions on my team. At the time, I was working away in the trenches, just trying to get the deals done. I think it was a bit like being in a sales environment. When I started TerraPro Solutions, it was natural for me to move into sales because of my previous experience, not only with land deal negotiations but also with managing the stress that came from those deals. We were only as good as our next deal. It felt like, “Oh, good. We closed that deal. Okay, we have ten more over here.” There's danger in that. In an organization, you have to ensure that people always know that they're valued. You have to celebrate the wins that you make in the moment. You and your team are working on so many objectives that it’s hard to celebrate once you cross the finish line in a single moment. But we have to celebrate. We must be intentional about raising up our team. They have to know they can celebrate as well. Find time to celebrate today because there will always be another deal to tackle. In partnerships and sales there's always a lag between your work and your results. Don't get caught up in the results you have today. Your results next quarter are dependent on your lack of complacency in the middle of the wins. Celebrate the W's but don't lose perspective of the goals.

I have had a power-packed Saturday! 1. I attended a sales masterclass called the “Sales Alchemy” by Built4Balance, led by exceptional facilitators and gurus in the field. Definitely framing this opening quote by Unini Campbell “ Sales is like positioning yourself as the answer to someone’s prayer. To do this, you figure out what the prayer is and then you make it come through” 2. I also joined week 3 of the One Woman Professional Mentorship Program, a program I was selected for by Sterling Bank, and our facilitator Ajibola Opeoluwa-Calebs who took us on “Improving Personal Efficiencyy and Impact”, challenged several efficiency misconceptions that every career professional should understand. Some of those misconceptions include: ??Long hours mean more productivity ??Busyness equals more productivity ??Immediate responses are effecient ??Working non-stop is the best approach ??Planning is a waste of time ??More tools mean better efficiency ??
