Auctioning Fine Whisky for Superior Returns Whisky auctions provide an avenue to acquire rare and premium bottles. They offer the ability to bid remotely online or submit pre-bids, with the highest bidder winning the lot. Auction whiskies are typically of exceptional quality and age, carefully authenticated and from respected distilleries. However, intense bidding can drive final prices well above the pre-auction estimates due to competition among collectors. While enabling access to elite expressions, the auction format also risks pricing out some prospective buyers. This is precisely why at Direct Whisky Co., we guide you through selecting the ideal whisky expressions for auctioning. Our expertise ensures you can acquire your preferred whiskies while maximizing the potential benefits of the auction process. We help you identify bottles that will pique collectors' interest, yet remain aligned with your taste preferences. With our insider knowledge, you can confidently pursue rarities that command top prices without compromising on the enjoyment you seek from your whisky collection. Our tailored approach balances investment prospects with drinkability, allowing you to extract optimal value from whisky auctions. ?#whiskyinvest #investments #caskinvestment #australia #whiskyinvestment #australianbusiness #investmentopportunity #austrlianinvestors?? #alternativeInvestments #investment #whisky #autraliainvestment #financialmarket #ukbusiness #WhiskyInvestment #WhiskyCask #rarewhisky #whiskyinvesting #UK #whiskyinvestments #casket #copilot #cask #UKinvestors #wine

It's Fieldays week! If you can squeeze in the time, then I encourage you all to visit. I have a deep connection (past Board member, Innovations judge - and more...). But regardless of the past, I get such a kick out visiting each year. First, seeing this years' innovations - the gift that keeps growing (puns always intended). Clever people and technology adding value to NZInc. As a patent attorney it is particularly gratifying to see the commercial version of what you first came across as a raw concept, and as an IP strategist, it is such a pleasure to see how inventors and companies position themselves. Next, I am reminded how we are all interconnected in the Agritech space and how it underpins NZ's economic fabric. We all depend upon and support each other. Last - mussel fritters! Need I say more... See you there.
Thinking of making the most of ‘industry days’, Wednesday and Thursday at Fieldays – why not purchase a VIP Business Plus Ticket? Event access on Wednesday and Thursday, VIP parking and access to the fully inclusive Business Lounge, where you can step away from the hustle and bustle, take a call, return an email or grab a bite to eat out of the chilly June weather. #fieldaysforbusiness #fieldaysnz #corporatebox

We are delighted to publish our sixth Noble & Co Whisky Intelligence Report, in partnership with decision intelligence firm Brainnwave. In the report we review the performance of the fine and rare whisky at auction market. The key highlights are: - Volumes at auction are in decline, down by 11% in Q4 2023 vs Q4 2022 - This is mostly being seen in lower-priced bottles, with volumes of bottles selling for £100-£1,000 down by 11.4% and £1,000 to £10,000 down by 9.4% - Average prices are rising but this is predominantly a mix shift due to the weakness at the lower-priced end of the market - Volume declines worsened through December and January, even accounting for seasonality.?Bottles selling between £100 and £200 were down by 20% in December 2023 vs December 2022, and 21% in January 2024 vs January 2023 - Most of the major brands have seen significant brand declines. The Macallan noted a very strong value in the quarter due to the sale of The Macallan Valerio Adami bottle - Our data shows that bottles that are “unsold” at auction are not increasing significantly in number overall. This implies sellers are being more careful in putting bottles to auction in a more fragile market - Overall, it is clear that the macro-economic climate is weighing on the auction market. If 2024 is a year of economic recovery, this may feed through to the auction market. - We now have 905,025 bottle sales in our dataset and over 20 million datapoints The full report can be downloaded for free here https://lnkd.in/e4dj6pjx Our thanks to all of those that partnered and assisted on the creation of this report. Whisky Rarity Fuels Soaring Prices and Investor Interest The prized Scotch whisky industry is booming like never before, with collectors and investors clamouring to get their hands on increasingly scarce and valuable bottles. Rare whiskies have become a hot commodity, with prices at auctions skyrocketing in recent years. Just last year, a bottle of The Macallan 1926 60-Year-Old sought by collectors worldwide sold for a staggering £2.2 million at an auction in London, smashing the previous world record. Distilled in 1926 and aged for 60 years, only 40 bottles of this legendary single malt were ever produced. "Rare whiskies have become liquid gold for investors" said Colin Fraser, a whisky specialist at Sotheby's auction house. "The demand is being driven by the limited supply and by whisky drinkers in emerging markets who are willing to pay top prices." The whisky investment craze shows no signs of letting up, with the total value of rare bottles sold at auction in the UK jumping over 60% in just the last year alone according to industry experts. Bottles from lost or ghosted distilleries that closed decades ago are among the most coveted. For wealthy whisky aficionados and investors alike, it seems the quest for the perfect aged dram has become a obsession that money can't easily quench. The real spirit of Scotland's national drink may have finally met its match. ?#WhiskyInvestment #rarity #AgedWhisky #barrelaged #investment?

We are on day three of the NY auction sales (15th May 2024) and we have two sales at Phillips – The Modern & Contemporary Art Day sale, morning session at 10 am EDT and an afternoon session at 2pm. In the Evening Sotheby’s have their Modern Evening Auction at 7:00 PM EDT. Reviewing the Phillips sales first, there are 131 lots in the morning session. To follow the sales online do go to the House’s website. It is always hard to drill down on your favourite lots, so I usually start by choosing 10 or 15 lots and then homing in on my top 1-5. My favourite 15 works are as follows: 1. Frankenthaler, (133); 2. Mitchell (138) 3. MANOLO VALDéS (167); 4. Albers (153); 5. Bonnard at lot 119; 6. Elaine de Kooning at lot 108; 7. Raoul Dufy (116) 8. Richter (162) 9. Judd (154) 10. Matisse (121) 11. Redon (120) 12. Leger (124), 13. Magritte (105), 14. Alexander Calder (228) Willi Baumeister (125). ? Cut down to just 5 lots and my choice is: ?– Frankenthaler, Elaine de Kooning, Albers, Redon and Magritte. My favourite lot can be viewed here: https://lnkd.in/eku9Z_g5 133 HELEN FRANKENTHALER Spirits of Wine Estimate US$1,200,000 - 1,800,000 176.8 × 109.9 cm acrylic on canvas Everyone has their unique aesthetic and so it is always fascinating to find out which works a collector loves and why that is. It is generally never easy making a selection when there are lots of wonderful works on offer and you can get decision paralysis and so you need to ask yourself a few pertinent questions. To help concretise your choice– ask yourself do you love it?, is this an excellent example of the artist’s work?, is it commercially desirable?, does it have re-saleability (this is important as you may want to sell it in the future)?, is it well priced? ? For assistance with buying blue-chip art at auction, in galleries and privately contact us at Vitruvian. #bluechipart #artcollector #artinvestor #artinvestment #privateequity #familyoffices #modernart #contemporaryart #auctions

I had an amazing time at the SIOR Global Spring Conference last week in Amelia Island, FL listening and learning from the brightest individuals in our business. The overall sentiment regarding the US Industrial Market(s) is that while things are still "good", they certainly are not "great" as they were in recent years past. The basis of these thoughts derives from current inflation trends, interest rate markets, the inability to make many investment deals pencil, as well as the steep rise in Vacancy Rates across the country (Delivery of many large speculative projects that remain vacant, as well as excess space on the market for Sublease) While predictions for the remainder of 2024 were not stellar, the outlook was hopeful looking in to 2025 where some believe we will see our 1st interest rate decrease since the Fed began these increases March 2022 (we shall see about that!), which would certainly assist Investors in pursuing deals, as well as Tenants looking to take on additional space, and in many cases additional debt, to grow their businesses. The consensus among the group was that there will be plenty of opportunity for SIORs to create value for themselves and for their clients by being fully immersed in their market via a Street Broker approach and by understanding how these outside factors will affect our business and our clients' businesses for years to come.
