This is an excellent article explaining the benefits of yoga to our brains. Research shows that regular practice of yoga alters our brains by reducing stress, improving our brain attention networks and increasing gray matter in our hippocampus, the memory center of our brain. I find my two 1.5 hour classes a week ensure my ageing body stays flexible and strong. I also love it because it improves my balance and nourishes my brain with meditation and relaxation. So if you haven't tried yoga yet, maybe it is time to nurture both your brain and your body and give it a go.
