Leadership Thought #15 The former UK Prime Minister, Tony Blair, said that the art of leadership is saying 'no,' not saying 'yes.' It is very easy to say 'yes. While I believe I understand where he's coming from, I would say the art is actually in knowing when to say "no" and then saying it and knowing when to, and what to say "yes" to and saying it. Not all opportunities are worthy of a yes. However I encourage people to think about saying yes before immediately resorting to no! When we default to no, we can miss a significant opportunity for our organization or our own personal growth. Equally saying yes too quickly can steer us towards overwhelm, engaging in activities that take us away from our mission or goals. #toastmasters #toastmasters100 #leadership
