More than 125 people from across Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont joined Thriving Communities Technical Assistance (TA) Providers and federal agencies as part of the?Federal Interagency Thriving Communities Network?convening at St. Anselm College Institute of Politics earlier this week. NRRA Communications Manager, Andrea Folsom, MSW, attended the event on behalf of NRRA to gather additional resources for and share the challenges faced by NRRA's Municipal Members -?including the need for more solid waste infrastructure funding for all NH municipalities and cumbersome grant application and reporting requirements?- with the federal agencies in the room. Applying for and managing federal grants can seem particularly daunting for smaller municipalities that may lack the personnel to write or manage grants. More often than not, municipal staff are required to wear many hats to help their community function smoothly.?The Thriving Communities Network aims to reduce barriers to federal grant funding by providing resources and tools municipalities of any size can use to successfully compete for federal funding. Learn more about the key resources and takeaways from the event: https://lnkd.in/e7NJ2qyd

To my Colorado Native friends - and beyond - please check this opportunity out: The Boulder County Parks & Open Space Indigenous Ways and Land Commitment Team has posted this RFP due on Oct 23: RFP 101-24 ILWC Indigenous Education and Speaker Series. https://lnkd.in/gF4VDfag "The Boulder County Parks & Open Space (BCPOS) Indigenous Ways & Land Commitment Team (IWLC) has developed a BCPOS Land Commitment (See Attachment A) informed by what we understand to share three commonly held Indigenous Principles; 1. Natural Reason, the Collective, and Futures (See Attachment B). 2. The Land Commitment (LC) will bolster and guide BCPOS decisions about the land we steward. a. This effort is intended to be internal work that will assist staff in future external engagement with Indigenous community members in different aspects of County work. The Land Commitment includes a departmental commitment to staff education and the incorporation of these three Indigenous Principles in our work. Providing resources for staff is critical to the success of this effort. We are seeking to contract with an Education Coordinator (“The Coordinator”), and Presenters (as subcontractors of The Coordinator), to help staff learn and incorporate these concepts into goals and work plans."
