The idea of "founder mode" has resonated with many — but the hard truth here is it only applies to a few. Dropping my thoughts on the latest heater from Paul Graham ↓
THANK YOU for saying this Alexis! I've been struggling to compose my thoughts on this. I think the idea of being involved on a meaningful level at multiple levels of your org is awesome— but I've already seen so many founders use "founder mode" as an excuse to undermine the leadership of their teammates. In many cases, especially if not executed by the right person in the right way, going founder mode can be destructive to the innovation of your organization. Appreciate your thoughts. What would you advise for the founders who aren't "Founder mode" types? Is there anything actionable from Brian's advice?
?? agree! I was wondering how a pre-revenue founder could do “founder mode”. ??
Again for the people in the back and the people team relentlessly making this same argument.
Founder mode is intense and definitely not for everyone. One thing people don't talk much about is how founders juggle their personal lives amidst all that chaos.
Now that you have mentioned selected few...more will switch to founder mode.??
This was great. Thanks for sharing. I agree with your sentiment about the core of business being value creation. Also, what’s the song in the background? I love it. Be well!
Not everyone suits the founder mentality; expertise varies significantly.
Fully agree! Although I just started with Nanichi Atabey, I feel like my whole life has been a startup, full of so many meaningful experiences that truly matter to me. So I can truly say that I am a founder! ?? Thanks for sharing this content! ????
"Absolutely, Alexis Ohanian Sr. The concept of 'founder mode' really does resonate with so many of us. It’s about harnessing that intense focus and drive to turn vision into reality ??. ?? Excited to see how this idea continues to evolve and inspire!
