Teamwork which relies on currently overridden it would seem - checks and balances, transparency, integrity and operating strong controls supported by Ethical Implementation of the Laws and Rules and End to End Audits and Continuous Improvements and the Open Voicing of Our Differences towards Solutions... better doesn't come from silencing the ideas. #VDH explains this well and its the nonsense to keep Americans in Strife and to Defeat Teamwork at every level #CommonSense lose the Obamination of Bidenistan and get back to the lines of Exceptional Teamwork. Lia Gaggino, MD, FAAP Dear Pediatric Meltdown Community, In today’s deeply reflective solo episode of "Pediatric Meltdown," I felt compelled to dive into a topic that strikes at the heart of every parent, caregiver, and child advocate: the future of our children. As a mother, daughter, sister, and now a grandmother, these issues resonate profoundly with me, and my hope is that they will resonate with you as well. Here are three crucial takeaways from my heartfelt plea. 1. The Stark Realities We Face In the wealthiest nation on Earth, it is both shocking and disheartening to realize that our children are not receiving the care they deserve. The data speaks volumes—our country has the highest infant and maternal mortality rates among wealthy nations, and we rank an alarming 55th in the world for infant mortality. Our children are not just numbers; they are our future educators, doctors, builders, and protectors. Yet, we fail them every day. "We are the wealthiest country in the world, yet we have the highest infant mortality and maternal mortality rates. Our babies and our mothers are dying." The high maternal mortality rate is a public health crisis as declared by the US Department of Health and Human Services. Additionally, the lack of federally mandated paid parental leave compounds these issues, leaving parents and children without essential support during critical early years. 2. The Desperate Need for Prioritized Child Welfare It is an unsettling truth that as a society, we often prioritize the protection of gun rights over the safety of our children. The painful reality is that the leading cause of death among children in this country is guns. As adults, guardians, and policymakers, we have an urgent responsibility to reverse this terrifying trend. "The number one killer of children are guns. Let that sink in for a minute. Have we put the power of shooting and killing in front of the joy and the meaningfulness of our children?" Our children are growing up in constant fear—fear of shooters, fear for their environment, fear for their future. This fear manifests in various forms, from active shooter drills in schools to concerns about climate change. These are the fears that we, as adults, must address head-on, advocating for stringent policies that prioritize the lives and well-being of our youngest citizens. 3. Voting for Kindness and Generosity As we approach another election cycle, I urge you to reflect on the values we wish to impart to our children. Our vote is not just a political statement; it is a declaration of our commitment to nurturing a future where every child can thrive regardless of their socioeconomic status, race, ethnicity, or family background. Poverty, hunger, and inadequate healthcare should not be the realities that define our children’s lives. "Search your soul and vote for kindness and generosity and for who you want your children to be, who you want them to respect." Amen!

In celebration of President’s Day, it is fitting to understand why Lincoln, in a 1982 poll of forty-nine historians and political scientists, was voted the best US President in history. The participants rated every President through Jimmy Carter across five categories - leadership abilities, accomplishments/crisis management, political skills, appointments, and character/integrity. Lincoln scored first in each of the five categories! The most lasting accomplishments attributed to Lincoln are the preservation of the Union, the vindication of democracy, and the death of slavery, all crises that would have ended differently under a lesser man in office. However, his greatest achievement was his ability to energize and mobilize the nation by appealing to its best ideals, in the pursuit of a more perfect, more just, and more enduring Union. No other President in US history has faced a greater crisis and no President accomplished as much. #leadership #presidentsday #realestate

**A Critical Reflection on Leadership and Responsibility** This serves as a stern reminder to all leaders, including Presidents and politicians, who have yet to remove the veil of racism from their perspectives. It's essential to recognise that perpetuating oppression transforms individuals into extremists and criminals. Before siding with harmful narratives, it is crucial for leaders to consider the broader implications of their actions. Immature responses and irresponsible media engagement only serve to fuel divisions within our society. We should all learn from the lessons of history; one might think that leaders like President Biden, Vice President Harris, and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau would internalize these lessons. Unfortunately, it appears that the pattern continues. It is time to put an end to the spread of Islamophobia and xenophobia. We must collectively work towards a more inclusive and understanding society. Let’s focus on fostering respect and unity rather than contributing to hate and division. Enough is enough.
