During Advent, we get to shine a light on a different kind of power. This power is animated by the Spirit of God and embodied in Jesus of Nazareth. This power is a gift from God and must be honored and stewarded as such. This week's Alban Weekly: https://lnkd.in/dNxpM68i

?? Serve One Another ?? ? How are you embodying the call to serve others in your daily life? ?? Serving others is not just a duty but a profound expression of Christ's love through us. It reflects our commitment to living as He did, not for ourselves but for the greater good of the community. ?? "For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another" (Galatians 5:13). Our freedom in Christ is not an excuse for self-indulgence, but a mandate to love and serve others, enriching their lives and our own. ?? "For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many" (Mark 10:45). Jesus set the ultimate example of service that goes beyond convenience to sacrificial love, inspiring us to give generously of ourselves. ?? "As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace" (1 Peter 4:10). We are equipped with unique talents and gifts not for personal glory but to benefit others, stewarding God’s grace in tangible ways. ?? Pray for the heart of a servant, one that mirrors Jesus' own. Ask God to reveal opportunities to serve those around you and to give you the strength and humility to act on them. ?? Take a step today to serve someone in your community. Whether it's volunteering, helping a neighbor, or simply offering a listening ear, let your actions be a testament to God’s love. #ServeOneAnother #FaithOverFear #SchoolAlive

United Diversity in Christ But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased. 1 Corinthians 12:18 Today's Scripture and Insight: 1 Corinthians 12:12–14, 21–27 Paul describes in 1 Corinthians 12 that this could be a healing solution. In verses 4–6, Paul describes God uniquely gifting each of His people for “the common good” (v. 7). Each is an “indispensable” member of Christ’s body (v. 22). When churches come to understand each person’s unique, God-given wiring and gifting, instead of pressuring everyone to help in the same way, they can support their members to serve in ways that fit their giftings. In this way, each person can find flourishing and wholeness and be secure in their valued place in Christ’s body (v. 26).

Mercy is our compassionate response to those in need, especially when we have the power to do otherwise. It's a reflection of God's own character, as Jesus reminds us: "Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful" (Luke 6:36, NIV). This call to mercy isn't just a nice suggestion; it's a core aspect of our identity as followers of Christ. But here's a fresh perspective to consider: Mercy isn't just about grand gestures or life-altering decisions. It's often found in the small, everyday moments of our lives. A kind word to a stressed coworker, patience with a difficult family member, or forgiveness offered to someone who has hurt us – these are all acts of mercy that ripple outward, breathing more compassion into the space around us. ?? January Theme: (Vessel Unto Honour) 2 Timothy 2:2121 If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work. ?? The idea of being a "vessel unto honour" comes from Paul, who uses it to share the kind of godly behavior he hopes to see from Timothy and his followers. In 2 Timothy 2, Paul also talks about other relatable images, like a good soldier, an athlete, and a hardworking farmer. This concept of being a "vessel unto honor" can really resonate with all believers in Christ. These principles can help guide us in living a life that reflects our faith! I’m really excited about the opportunity to be part of the monthly theme! I believe it will help me grow in my faith and deepen my relationship with Christ. This suggests that we should: - Strive for righteousness, faith, love, and peace - Show kindness to everyone - Be willing to teach others - Practice patience, especially when we’re wrong - Offer gentle corrections QUALITIES OF VESSEL UNTO HONOUR -To be honorable vessels, we must stay clean and pure inside and out (Daniel 1:8, 18). -We should let go of anything that doesn’t align with a fulfilling life (Colossians 3:5). -Submitting to God gives us the strength to resist harmful distractions (James 4:7). -Practicing self-denial helps us avoid the fleeting pleasures of this world (1 Timothy 6:10). -Let’s commit to a strong prayer life and regular Bible study for growth (2 Timothy 2:15). -Addicted soul-winners who rely on the Holy Spirit for supernatural power (Acts 1:8). #Sighup #Bible #Church #ButteCounty #News #Inmates #Helpme #Oroville #chico #cajailoutreach #inspiration #family #Volunteer #CommunitySupport #TransformLives #JailOutreach #FaithInAction #Community #FaithandFamily #CompassionMatters

One Nation under GOD ?? The USA is only 248 years old. Our Nation is known for being "The Land of Opportunity" Many have migrated here for the chance of living "The American dream." The reason why America has been so blessed is because of the Lord. Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, The people He has chosen as His own inheritance. Psalms 33:12 The pledge of allegiance mentions "One nation under God" and our money reads "In God we trust" Yet over the last 100 years there has been a move to remove God from America. For example, years ago a law was passed to no longer allow prayer and the reading of the word at the beginning of school. This didn't happen over night, it was gradual. And many many laws have passed since, in an effort to remove God from America. To remove the God who took us to great heights and has been our covering. It was happening right in front of us as laws were changed and we sat idly by. Content and focused on the cares of this world. The result, is where we are today. We look around and see a great decline. We have fallen from grace and where once admired by other countries, America is on its way to becoming a spectacle. Yet there is a solution, and it starts with those who are followers of Christ. Step 1. VOTE for biblical values - If we call Jesus Lord we must come under his Lordship and vote ?? for the things of God, NOT according to how we feel, or our opinion, or because we like or dislike a Presidential candidate. “But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say? Luke 6:46 "Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself and enemy of God" (ref. James 4:4) We can't go back in time and change what contributed to the decline of our great nation, but we can VOTE TODAY and do our part. Step 2. "Then if my people who are called by my name will HUMBLE themselves and PRAY and SEEK my FACE and TURN from their WICKED ways, I will hear from heaven and will FORGIVE their sins and restore their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14 Step 2 is the solution to not being lukewarm. God isn't interested in a lukewarm church he will spit us out of his mouth. Believers, these 2 steps are how we make America Godly again. This is how we restore America ???? back to her prestige. Wishing you all a blessed Tuesday ?? My husband walked in on me bawling ?? to this ?? Have a listen if you want to get into his presence. For many Two Rivers residents, spring can be a very spiritual season. In the Jewish faith, it means remembering the Passover feast before Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt. For Muslims, Ramadan is a holy time devoted to prayer, fasting and almsgiving to the poor. In the Hindu faith, spring means Holi, a festival of colors that celebrates the triumph of good over evil. And then there is Easter, the holiest time of the year for Christians during which they recognize the death and resurrection of Jesus. https://lnkd.in/eN2WjvS4
