How will the Arrano 1A engine support the Airbus H160’s entry into the Chinese market? Safran Helicopter Engines has received a validated type certificate (VTC) from the CAAC - Civil Aviation Administration of China for its Arrano 1A engine, marking the engine’s second Chinese certification this year. This achievement will facilitate the entry of Airbus Helicopters’ H160 into service in China. Marc DELORT, General Manager of Safran Helicopter Engines, emphasized the company’s commitment to providing comprehensive support services for the Arrano 1A, which will power various H160 missions across sectors such as oil-and-gas and emergency medical services (EMS). The Arrano 1A engine offers a 15% reduction in fuel consumption and features cutting-edge technology, including a digital control system and a 3D-printed combustion chamber, optimizing performance and sustainability. This engine, like all Safran models, is compatible with up to 50% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), reinforcing Safran’s commitment to reducing emissions.
