As part of our #CampaigntoConnect, AFAS COO Kris McBride recently visited Joint Base Charleston, and spoke at their First Sergeant Symposium, engaging with the incredible leaders who are dedicated to supporting Airmen and their families. She also met with Chief Master Sergeant Lucero Stockett, PMP, Command Chief Master Sergeant of the 437th Airlift Wing. This wing plays a critical role in global contingency operations, ensuring the airland and airdrop delivery of forces, equipment, and supplies. AFAS is proud to partner with leaders like these to support our service members! #CampaignToConnect #AFAS #JointBaseCharleston

Gen. Stephen Whiting, #USSPACECOM commander, and Chief Master Sgt. Jacob Simmons, USSPACECOM command senior enlisted leader, hosted fellows from National Defense University's Keystone course where they received briefs on how USSPACECOM conducts operations in support of the joint fight.? ? The Keystone course educates command senior enlisted leaders who are currently serving in, or slated to serve in, a general or flag-officer level position at a joint or service headquarters, including potential joint task force assignments. USSPACECOM works with senior leaders across the United States Department of Defense and our Allies to foster a warfighting culture, which is instrumental to the rapidly advancing capability of the Joint Force.

In military logistics, ‘strategic sustainment’ is more than a buzzword—it’s the backbone of mission readiness. At Army Materiel Command, we focus on aligning resources, logistics, and personnel to support our forces wherever and whenever they’re needed. In civilian terms, it’s akin to supply chain resilience, ensuring continuity despite obstacles. Imagine your company’s operations never pausing, even in uncertain times. That’s the mindset we cultivate. #AMC #SupplyChain #Logistics #Leadership #MissionReadiness

This was my absolute favorite panel of the entire event. Seeing two of my former wing commanders on stage, speaking so resolutely toward the needs of our nation, toward a nation that my own children will be proud to grow up in, brought hope and joy to my heart. I also deeply resonated with General Mike Minihan's remarks: "If we don't get connectivity correct, then we are condemned to operate that airplane in the same way our grandfathers did, in the 50s, 60s, and 70s." --and-- "Amateurs study tactics. Professionals study logistics. Victors study maneuver!" --and-- "The readiness that underpins deterrence is the same readiness that underpins decisive victory." --and-- "Airmen fill the gap between what they have and what they need. They do that with tenacity...they do that with courage...they do that with professionalism...they do that with passion!" Such a feast of motivation and truth. I also love watching Airmen close that gap, and I'm grateful to still be in a position to help and contribute to their efforts. I love my chosen career of innovation. The path between idea and innovation is one of maneuver, with innovators creating the conditions for great ideas to become reality, in advance of their time of need. Because...innovation IS readiness and innovation underpins decisive victory. #victorsstudymaneuver Productable

Kelly, Commander, Air Combat Command – Lt. Gen. Kevin B. Schneider, Director of Staff – Moderator:?Gen. Herbert J. “Hawk” Carlisle, USAF (Ret.), Former Commander, Air Combat Command My favorite quote from this panel: “Whether you fly, fix, or support, all Airmen and Guardians are needed to maintain our competitive advantage. LtCol Raible’s Commander’s Guidance is well worth the read. First, let me provide you with some historical context that is near and dear to many, including myself: https://lnkd.in/gRz9uTgF LtCol Raible’s Commander’s Guidance can be applied in any setting and situation. True leadership is transferable to any job, in any industry, military or civilian sector. All 6 principles are direct and clear to the point. I, wholeheartedly believe them to all be of equal importance and value. From my personal observations of working in the civilian sector thus far, principle #6 is a definite opportunity to improve upon. “When all else fades away, attack pilots have one mission: provide offensive air support for Marines.” This statement clearly identifies the main objective (“the job”) and who they support. Can everyone in your organization clearly articulate their main objective and who they support? #leadership #organization #remember #honor #fallenheroes #semperfidelis #Marines
On December 9, 2011, Lt. Col. Chris “Otis” Raible, Commanding Officer of Marine Attack Squadron VMA 211, issued his commander’s guidance for the unit's AV-8B Harrier attack pilots. It's well worth the short read—and sharing. Lt. Col. Raible was killed in action on September 14, 2012, but his leadership legacy lives on?in this memo. #leadership #marines #usmc #military

Lt. Col. Raible’s comments are as applicable to a Marine combat pilot providing close air support to dusty infantrymen in combat as they are to a computer engineer supporting a product rollout from an air-conditioned office. ???????Continually seek self-improvement. ???????Do the right thing, even when no one is watching. ???????And always strive for greatness, regardless of the mission. Following these three simple rules all but guarantees success.

America's NCOs. This is a great piece that explains in lay terms why we have the superb fighting forces we do. There is too much focus on technology and the number of ships, airplanes, and armor when assessing threats. Our main "peer" threat nations cannot develop individual leadership skills found in our NCOs. https://lnkd.in/dGzAa5im

Securing space is no small task, especially considering just how vast that domain is. The complexity that U.S. Space Command faces in managing threats, coordinating assets, and ensuring space superiority is on another level. With the growing competition in space and the increasing reliance on satellites for everything from communication to defense, the challenges are only getting more intricate. Hats off to those working hard to safeguard our interests in space—it’s a critical mission that impacts us all, whether we realize it or not.
As #WSW2024 comes to a close, Chief Master Sgt. Jacob Simmons, #USSPACECOM command senior enlisted leader, emphasized the importance of ensuring space remains secure and sustainable for all.
