On this Veterans Day, we are reminded of the profound sacrifices made by our veterans and their families. This day offers a moment to reflect on the courage, dedication, and unwavering commitment of those who have served our country. Their bravery has helped safeguard our freedoms and ensure the security of our democracy. At AIR, we are deeply grateful for the unique perspectives and skills that our veteran colleagues bring to the table. Their leadership, resilience, and teamwork enrich our organization and drive our mission forward. Supporting veterans and military families has long been a priority for us. We offer full benefits and pay to teammates on active duty, ensuring they and their families are supported. Through our partnership with Project Sanctuary and TAPS, we are proud to contribute to initiatives that help military families heal and cope with loss. Our AIR Gives Charity Golf Classic raises funds for these causes, and we are excited to continue this tradition with our 2025 tournament. As we honor our veterans, let’s remember that the values they fought for – freedom, democracy, and unity – are worth preserving. Thank you to all veterans and military families for your service and sacrifice. We are honored to work alongside you. #VeteransDay #AIRCommunities #ThankYouVeterans?

Honouring Our Heroes: 80 Years Since D-Day. Today marks the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings; and I'd like us to pause and reflect on the courage, resilience, and unwavering commitment of the brave men and women who stormed the beaches of Normandy on that fateful day in 1944. Allied Forces Unite: Troops from the UK, the USA, Canada, and France joined forces to launch the largest seaborne invasion in history. Their collective determination turned the tide of World War II, laying the foundation for an Allied victory. From Portsmouth to Normandy: On June 6, 1944, these heroes faced unimaginable challenges as they waded through the cold waters, dodging bullets and artillery fire. Their sacrifice and resilience paved the way for freedom and peace. Remembering Our Veterans: Today, we stand on the shoulders of giants—those who risked everything for our liberty. Let us remember their valour, their sacrifice, and their unwavering commitment to a better world. Supporting Our Veterans: Supporting veterans isn’t just about remembering the past; it’s about ensuring their well-being today. You can support this by advocating for mental health services, employment opportunities, and a strong support network for those who served. Learning from History: The lessons of D-Day resonate across generations. We must teach our children about the importance of unity, peace, and freedom. Their testimony serves as a timeless reminder that we must never take these precious values for granted. https://lnkd.in/eSuBiMy6 #DDay80 #RememberingHeroes Tim O'Keefe (FIRP) Nick Garland CDW UK Mark Murphy

Have you heard of #veteran #transitionstress? It's a common among separating #veterans when they leave the military since for many that is all they know. The hurdles they face are numerous: finding a new job, losing their military friends, finding purpose, and losing routine, to name a few. It is a challenging time, as many may not want to ask for help as they try to adapt to civilian life. Some #veterans have compared the experience to shedding their military "skin," much like Will Ferrell's character in Zoolander. As a US Navy #veteran myself, I experienced many of these hurdles, but was fortunate to find opportunities at veteran-friendly companies like Toll Brothers and Mercalis. If you know a veteran who's experiencing a recent transition, please show your support by connecting with them, giving them advice, or just asking how they're doing so they know they are not alone. And if you don't know a veteran, consider supporting some great charities that help veterans, like Mission 22, Irreverent Warriors, Inc., or The SUP Veterans. Please help make this transition a little easier for those who have served our country. #supportveterans #veterancharities https://lnkd.in/db-ARbHM

Happy Veterans Day!! For those of you that know me, you know I am passionate about helping our homeless veterans, whether I’m making sure they are getting meals, or have clothes to wear. I served in the NAVY on an Amphibious Attack Ship alongside Marines. I wanted to become a Seal but couldn’t get into BUDS. After my duty I’ve always helped our veterans. On Veterans Day, we come together as a nation to honor the brave men and women who have served in our military. Their sacrifices—enduring hardship, facing danger, and putting their lives on the line for our freedom—deserve our deepest respect and gratitude. But our acknowledgment shouldn’t stop at words alone. As we reflect on their service, we must also remember the challenges many veterans face after returning home, particularly the alarming issue of homelessness. It’s heartbreaking to think that those who defended our nation, who sacrificed so much for our safety and security, often return to find themselves struggling to find stable housing. According to recent reports, tens of thousands of veterans are homeless in the United States, and many more live in precarious situations. These veterans, who once gave everything for us, now face daily battles of their own, and it’s our responsibility to help them. This Veterans Day, let’s not only honor our veterans through ceremonies and words, but through actions that can make a tangible difference in their lives. We can support programs that offer shelter, mental health services, job training, and other resources essential to helping veterans rebuild their lives. Whether through donations, volunteering, or advocating for policy changes, every effort counts. We owe our veterans more than just a day of recognition—we owe them the opportunity to live with dignity and security. Let’s ensure they have the support they need and deserve. #VeteransDay #Veteran #NAVY #Marines #Army #AirForce #CoastGuard

Day 2 Ruck to Stop Soldier Suicide Keep improving your foxhole. In civilian terms this means to leave things in better condition than it was before you got there. We Cannot Stand By and let the epidemic of Veteran and military Service Member suicide stay the same or worsen. Stop Soldier Suicide is the only national nonprofit focused solely on solving the issue of suicide among U.S. veterans and service members. ***We have an aggressive goal to reduce the military suicide rate by 40% no later than 2030.*** This is an organization led by people I know and trust. When a photo says 1,000 words. This photo was shared by my sweet friend, Jenny Lynne Stroup & it hasn’t left my mind since seeing her original post. Pictured is the USS DWIGHT D EISENHOWER CVN 69 with its lights off & at rest after returning home recently from a very long, extended deployment… …& then extended again. Directly next to it is the USS Harry S. Truman with its lights on & ready to roll out. Here’s the thing - Deployment’s don’t stop. This is an example of only 2 US Navy aircraft carriers swapping out on mission. At this moment, the U.S. has over 200,000 military personnel deployed. 200,000 service members away from their family, friends, & loved ones. 200,000 service members families “holding down the fort” & just waiting for the day their service member comes home. When one unit comes home, another unit heads out. Rinse & repeat. *Deployments don’t stop.* Support for our service members can’t stop. Resources MUST be constantly fueled & on the ready. Nonprofits & organizations supporting the service members that keep us sleeping peacefully at night are constantly needed. If you ever needed a sign or red flag stating WHY military support organizations are NEEDED…this is it. ?? Because deployments don’t stop. **I encourage you to pop over to Cassidy Norman’s posts & read a bit more into what the Ike’s deployment looked like for its crew. Hint - “…the most intense & sustained combat at sea since World War II.” Believe me, you’ll want to read the rest. #operationgratitude #supportourtroops #nonprofit #socialimpact #giveback #volunteer #remembereveryonedeployed Operation Gratitude

Whether you're serving on active duty, a veteran, or supporter of our veteran community, you don't want to miss this! The?VBC?purpose is three-fold: 1)?Assist transitioning service members through networking, discussions of important events, introductions to industries across the region, and ensuring service members are personally introduced to leaders in the aforementioned groups. 2)?Translate our military service to community service, ensuring we continue our leadership into non-profit, volunteer, and civil service organizations.? 3)?Continue our sense of camaraderie, thus safeguarding the bonds established during our military service and establishing a safety net of resources for veterans.

?? Day 16/100: The Spirit of Service - Extending Beyond the Uniform ?? Day 16 of our journey brings us to a core value that defines military life and enriches our civilian communities: the Spirit of Service. Service in the military goes beyond the call of duty; it’s a deep-seated commitment to supporting one another, upholding shared values, and contributing to the greater good. This ingrained sense of service doesn’t end with the uniform; it extends into every aspect of a veteran’s life, inspiring involvement in community initiatives, volunteer work, and public service. The transition to civilian life provides a broad platform for veterans to apply this spirit of service, making meaningful impacts in their communities and beyond. Whether it’s through leadership in local organizations, volunteering, or mentoring, the contributions of veterans are invaluable. “Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on Earth.” - Muhammad Ali. This quote encapsulates the essence of the spirit of service, emphasizing that giving back is a fundamental aspect of a fulfilling life. #SpiritOfService #VeteranCommunity #GiveBack #VeteransInService #Day16of100 ?? 16/100: Today, let’s celebrate the ongoing contributions of veterans in our communities and reflect on how we can each embody the spirit of service in our daily lives. It’s about making a difference, one act of service at a time.

This post is essential reading. NZ has been on a pathway of increasing division for some years, and it is collective weakness. Defence veterans show NZ the way. Integration, dialogue, learning from history and setting a joint culture pathway to the future is essential. Do we want to continue the pathway we are on and reach the terrible outcomes that Bosnia, Germany, and Rewanda did in the past? OR shall we act on the Defence example. A society that stands together is a strong society. Nā tō rourou, nā taku rourou?ka ora ai te iwi (With your food basket and my food basket the people will thrive)
"Having spent many years in the military, many of my fellow soldiers were Pākehā, but we did not look at each other as Māori or Pākehā, just fellow soldiers/mates." This quote illustrates the true nature of the unity experienced by New Zealand veterans. In the NZDF, the bond between soldiers transcends racial and cultural differences. We stood/stand/will stand and fight together as one, supporting and protecting each other, as brothers and sisters. In this, there is a salutary lesson for our current and future society. In New Zealand today, where societal divisions seem more prominent than ever due to the agenda driven narratives of a self serving minority on both sides, much can be learnt from the solidarity displayed by our veterans. Their example demonstrates that racial unity and mutual respect are eminently achievable, especially amidst adversity. If you're having difficulty figuring out how to do it, ask a New Zealand veteran. No Duff Charitable Trust Nos Adepto Fieri Stercore https://lnkd.in/gjrmVV2p

We’ve got a problem. The demand for support from bereaved military families far, far outstrips what we at Scotty’s can afford. We can’t keep up. We need to generate £2m this year just to stand still and yet there are over 2,000 children bereaved of a parent who served every year. What you can do to help… ?? Can your business sign up to our Business Heroes Club? It’s £250/£500/£1k a month. ?? Could you nominate Scotty’s as your company’s charity of the year? ?? Can you afford to make a small donation? ?? How about fundraising at the Scotty’s March? ?? Or what about donating a % of sales from a product line? Together we can provide the support our bereaved military families deserve, but we need your help ??
?? New Data?? Each year, around 2,100 children experience the death of a parent who served in the British Armed Forces. Scotty’s Little Soldiers currently supports over 680 of these brave children, but we need your help to reach more. Help us expand our support services. Your contribution can make a difference. ??
