?? ? Back to School Success at Royal Crest Nashua! ? ?? As the new school year kicks off, we're thrilled to celebrate the incredible impact of our AIR Gives program! Our team at Royal Crest Estates Nashua has once again shown incredible community spirit! This year, they proudly supported not one, but two local elementary schools with their annual school supply drive. Together, they collected over 2,000 essential supplies, including notebooks, crayons, backpacks, and more, ensuring that students are well-prepared to learn! "A kindergarten teacher at Amherst Street Elementary was so happy to see all the backpacks," said Royal Crest Estates Nashua’s Community Manager and AIR Gives Ambassador. "She told me, 'Three months from now, when a kindergartner comes in with a smelly backpack from that banana that was left behind, we will be able to help!'" Through the AIR Gives program, all AIR Communities teammates have 15 paid hours to volunteer in their community each year. While our AIR Gives Ambassadors work hard to plan events and drives for the team, teammates have the independence and support to organize meaningful events, making a real difference in their communities each year. Thank you to Royal Crest Estates Nashua for always being a shining example of teammates finding creative ways to be a good neighbor in the communities we serve.???? https://lnkd.in/gm6-4-6H #AIRGives #BackToSchool #CommunityImpact #RoyalCrestEstates #MakingADifference #AIRCommunities #Nashua #NewHampshire

Keeping the Spark Alive: Ensuring Continued Education for Our Community's Children During the first term holidays, we conducted transformative community camps, led by newly trained education volunteers. These camps, which included both school-going and out-of-school children, achieved remarkable success by re-enrolling many back into the education system. The Power of Community Camps The camps provided an inclusive environment that promoted learning and growth. The dedication of the volunteers was crucial to their success. Stories of Success Maria:A 10-year-old girl who returned to school after a year due to financial constraints, now thriving academically and socially. Francis:An 8-year-old boy who rekindled his interest in learning and now dreams of becoming an engineer. Sustaining the Momentum To ensure continued education through the secondary level, we plan to implement comprehensive and sustainable strategies. A Call to Action We invite parents, community leaders, volunteers, and educational authorities to join us in this noble cause. Together, we can ensure that our children stay in school and thrive. By working together, we can transform our community's educational landscape and create lasting change. Let's keep the spark of education alive and build a brighter future, one child at a time. In communities across the country, the demand for early childhood education (ECE) exceeds the number of slots available for children, including in #Missouri. Kids Win Missouri is working to address this challenge through its Child Care & Early Education Community Planning Project, which is supporting the development of locally focused community plans designed to chart a path toward a child care and early education system that better meets each community’s needs. #GiveSTLDay Early Giving is now open! I'm asking friends in my network to consider supporting Navigate STL Schools. Navigate advocates for equitable enrollment by sharing relevant resources and transparent information about the traditional, charter, magnet, and independent school options available. Navigate focuses on Early Childhood Education, Transition (ECE, elementary, middle and high school) Programs, and making sure residents understand their educational options in the city of St. Louis. Kindergarten and the skills learned at this grade level are critical to a student’s educational journey. And currently, kindergarten isn’t a requirement in the state of MO. In addition to this, being prepared for the transition to kindergarten starts earlier than most caregivers anticipate, putting them behind in the enrollment process - leaving them with less school options, and less time to access any additional resources they may need to get their student to [and through] school. Our Kinder Readiness Program works to solve this problem! Did you know that $73 can provide one month of kindergarten readiness services to a family? And $877 can support one entire ECE center with Kinder Readiness Services for a month? Will you join our Kinder Readiness Giving Club and help support this pivotal transition time for one or more families? https://lnkd.in/gfNDazU8

We are very excited to announce that Bright Beginnings, Inc. has been awarded a $25,000 grant from The Evelyn S. And K.E. Barrett Foundation to open infant and toddler child development centers at Lorraine H. Whitlock Elementary School, and Garfield Elementary School in Washington, DC! “Bright Beginnings relies on the generosity of private funders like the Barrett Foundation to maintain the public-private partnership that is a hallmark of the Head Start program” said Erin Fisher, Bright Beginnings’ Chief Executive Officer. “We are also proud to partner with DC Public Schools on the opening of these infant and toddler child development centers. The new centers will help address the shortage of high-quality early childhood education seats for children age birth to two years in DC, particularly for families living east of the Anacostia River.” Head over to: https://lnkd.in/ehAf_hes to read more!

Montessori Head Start programs exist, but they are few and far between. There certainly are challenges to their implementation as this 2021 story from MontessoriPublic outlines https://lnkd.in/gYuD7pNH, but as we see in this video from Trust for Learning, the long-term benefits of ideal learning environments (including #Montessori) for children and educators alike, far outweigh the challenges. “An ideal learning environment is one that honors children as full human beings and sees them as navigators of their world, centering them and allowing them to have a voice.” #IdealLearning
This giving season, as you sift through all the different donation appeals and emails, we encourage you to pay special attention to the Head Start programs offering #IdealLearning environments to the young children and families that they serve. In this video, you will hear directly from some of these programs from around the country about how ideal learning environments—grounded in equity, play, and nurturing relationships—are making a lasting impact on young children in their care. You can learn more about the ideal learning principles and Ideal Learning Head Start Network, and join the movement, by visiting our website (link in bio). "Successful kindergarten transitions do not happen by accident. They are the result of a quality, productive community partnership and planning process that involves a wide range of stakeholders who support young children and their families. To make this collaborative process easier, the Kansas Early Childhood Recommendations Panel has created a Kindergarten Transitions Toolkit to support communities in their efforts to develop effective, satisfying, and sustainable plans and practices." Every year on Children’s Day, we celebrate the joy, innocence and boundless potential of our young ones. Yet, beneath the surface of this celebration lies a harsh reality: while some children are joyfully heading to school, others are forced to forgo their childhood to work and support their families. This stark contrast in opportunity is a gap we can’t ignore. On this Children’s Day, let’s pledge to bridge this gap. Together, we can work to make a difference by contributing to causes that strive to make education accessible to every child. Education is more than just a tool—it’s a right, a promise for a brighter tomorrow and a steppingstone towards breaking the cycle of poverty. Every child deserves access to it. When we look at children who spend their days laboring instead of learning, we see lives limited by circumstances beyond their control. We see potential untapped, dreams deferred and futures compromised. Let’s stand together, so that no child is denied their right to dream, learn and thrive. This Children’s Day, join us in our mission to give every child the opportunity to experience the joy of learning. Let’s ensure that every child is in school, not at work. Happy Children’s Day!?
