Industry alignment when we need it the most: robust foundations for change As the measurement and transparent reporting of climate topics continues to be a central enabler of the insurance industry in the transition to net zero, the ClimateWise Principles Independent Review 2023 demonstrates the transformational shift of the ClimateWise members towards excellence in sustainability reporting. Reporting in full alignment with the recommendations of the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD), 2023 saw a significant improvement in member scores, signalling not only enhanced sustainability reporting across the industry but a readiness of the membership for an even more ambitious set of ClimateWise Principles in 2024. While progress has accelerated, for the industry to achieve impact, it must be accompanied by excellence in climate action, mitigation and adaptation.
