These words resonated deeply with me during my internship/job search last year.?Each rejection followed a similar pattern: - "Sorry, you need C++ experience."?? ?-> Learns C++ and improving with every project!? - "Sorry, you need ROS experience."?? ?-> Learns ROS.? - "Sorry, you need Autonomous Vehicle expertise."?? ?-> Improving myself every single day!? Despite my IT experience, each application revealed a new skill gap. C++? Learned it. ROS? Mastered it. Autonomous Vehicle expertise? Working on it daily. Yet there was always something more needed. While continuing my job search, I decided to channel my Chi into an ambitious project:?? an Autonomous Mobile Robot system designed to navigate alongside humans in urban environments. Global Path Planner (Production-Ready in C++) - Custom Lanelet2 map network for pedestrian and bicycle ways?? - GPS-based navigation using Dijkstra's algorithm?? - Centralized error handling with comprehensive logging?? - Full ROS2 integration? Local Trajectory Planner (Prototype) - Path Generation:?? ?* Quintic Bézier splines for smooth, continuous paths (C2/G2 continuity)?? ?* Velocity profile with forward/backward consistencies to make sure robot respects kinematic & dynamic constraints?? ?* Simpson's rule integration for precise path generation?? ?* Time-optimal velocity profiles? - Obstacle Avoidance:?? ?* Dynamic Window Approach (DWA) for real-time collision avoidance?? ?* RPROP optimization with gradient-based distance mapping?to generate best & optimized trajectory The code currently resides in a private repository but will be made public soon.?? Next up: Localization and Controller modules.? Every line of code represents hours of learning and growth.?? As I continue developing this system, I'm excited to see where this journey leads.? I am pleased to announce the successful completion of the EV Engineering Intermediate Job Simulation for Ford, where I conducted in-depth analyses on various battery form factors and LiDAR sensors crucial for EV and robotics applications. Specifically, I evaluated cylindrical, pouch, and prismatic batteries to determine their suitability for EV use, alongside in-depth analyses on mechanical, solid-state, and hybrid LiDAR sensors for intelligent automation systems and robotics in autonomous EV vehicles and drones.
