Tracking world market data on food produce, dairy production, meats, and grains is essential for planning and sustainability. This data provides insights into global supply and demand trends, helping producers anticipate shortages or surpluses and adjust practices accordingly. Understanding these trends allows for better preparation in the face of climate change, as shifting weather patterns impact agricultural yields. By analyzing market data, industries can optimize resource use, reduce waste, and improve food distribution, ensuring more efficient production. This forward-looking approach can also drive innovation, fostering growth and resilience in the global food system.

Dear International Monetary Fund, This morning, I saw a piece of news about deregulating meat and milk prices in Pakistan, which is one of your requests. This is a great step for farmers in Pakistan to obtain better milk prices. Farmers put great effort and hard work into producing 1 litre of milk and deserve better milk prices. I speak to over 500 farmers every week and connected with over 5,000 farmers in Pakistan. The Pakistan dairy industry has great potential and could play a vital role in the economy if importance is given to it. The future of the dairy industry in Pakistan looks brilliant, due to intellectual young farmers entering, and who have the vision to improve the ecosystem. The newer farmers entering dairy farming have backgrounds in technology, engineering, and finance, or are international investors. I have one more request with the Government of Pakistan Government of Pakistan Government of Pakistan and Government of Punjab can give this point some importance. My request to the Government is to set a certain standard for the agricultural farmers to follow and produce a certain quality feed item, that is being sold to dairy farmers. This could include maize corn silage, alfalfa, and other fodders or concentrates. A nice way to tackle this could be, similar to how milk has a Fat/LR/TS standard set by the Punjab Food Authority, the same way feed items could have it, which agricultural farmers should follow and every season should provide these reports to potential buyers - without these reports, they can not sell the feed item. With the right quality of feed, the animals can produce better milk. The most important point, that the Government needs to take action on and play a massive role in is to cap feed prices every season, so after a few months, prices are not hiked to make higher margins from dairy farmers. If maize silage now costs 15 rupees per KG with delivery, then in a few months, it will cost farmers 20 rupees per KG. As you can see, this will affect the profit margins of farmers and will stop them from scaling or farm growth. If the Government can cap this, then no blackmailing can happen later. I speak to a lot of farmers every week, so I understand the challenges they are facing. If these can be resolved, you will see a huge growth in the dairy sector, which will play a vital role in economic growth. #pakistan #dairyfarming #dairy

$$ There is a downward trend in the Dutch onion market in recent weeks :: 1- The Dutch onion market is now misleading with speculation and excessive expectations. 2- There are no markets that receive large quantities. Since the market has declined, orders are only placed when necessary. 3- This happened because last season's high expectations carried over into this year, causing prices to rise too early. 4- These high prices were based more on speculation than on actual market demand. 5- Prices for red onion farmers have also begun to decline, and there are also more onions than initially expected. #ExportwithMahmoud #export #Europe #trade #sell #buy #worldwide #agricultural #offers #quality #freshproduce #best #products #international #onion #Dutchonion #Germany

Due to the decline in raw milk prices and the high cost of feed, the profitability of upstream raw milk enterprises has been significantly impacted. (Here are the performance results of five upstream dairy farming enterprises for the first half of 2023.) In the first half of 2023, the average price of raw fresh milk in China's main dairy-producing provinces was 3.96 yuan per kilogram, a decrease of approximately 5.7% from 4.20 yuan per kilogram in mid-2022. Meanwhile, the prices of soybean meal and corn in China remained high, with average prices increasing by 4.8% and 1.4% year-on-year compared to mid-2022. The average landing price of imported alfalfa hay was $573.43 per ton, an increase of 23.5% from mid-2022. Faced with market fluctuations, upstream dairy farming enterprises are more susceptible to uncertainty and impact. As the foundation of the dairy industry, upstream farming not only affects the operations of numerous dairy farmers but also significantly influences the overall supply and demand of dairy products and the direction of dairy industry development. In this regard, all enterprises across the dairy industry value chain share the responsibility of bearing these risks. #Finance #Dairy #Animalhusbandry

The country is self-sufficient in rice, no rice imports are expected in 2024 Part 1 In a significant milestone for Sri Lanka’s agricultural sector, the Minister of Agriculture and Plantation Industries has announced that the country is now self-sufficient in rice production hence, Sri Lanka is not expected to import any rice in 2024. This achievement is the result of years of dedicated efforts by farmers and government initiatives to boost domestic rice production. It not only bodes well for the nation’s food security but also represents a critical step towards reducing reliance on foreign imports and strengthening the agricultural sector. The Minister of Agriculture and Plantation Industry, Mr. Mahinda Amaraweera mentioned this while joining a press briefing held at the Presidential Media Centre (PMC) on the theme ‘Collective Path to a Stable Country’ today (29). Minister Amaraweera announced a renewed focus on supporting Sri Lanka’s agricultural and plantation sectors in 2023. His ministry implemented targeted programs aimed at boosting both industries. One key initiative was a substantial financial investment in fertilizer subsidies. During the Yala and Maha seasons, Rs. 22 billion were allocated to ensure access and affordability for farmers. Additionally, the government committed Rs. 13 billion to directly purchase paddy from farmers, providing valuable income and market stability. This dedication paid off. Unlike 2022, when 08 metric tons of rice was imported, Sri Lanka achieved self-sufficiency in 2023. The people of the country consumed rice grown entirely by Sri Lankan farmers throughout the year. This remarkable achievement, against the backdrop of economic challenges, underscores the resilience and success of the government’s agricultural development efforts.
