As an entrepreneur, one of the primary challenges that I faced in my initial years were around - building the minimum tech stack. I tried hiring people & majority of them took me for a ride! I had to take help from a few IIIT & BITS grads – learn the basics and then launch my first product. Everything was good at the end. However, I lost precious time and had to spend a lot more money than what I anticipated. AND over the course of the last few years, I realized the EXACT same problem exists on the other side as well. Folks with tech background, do not have the required business experience. Hence, pushing their product launch and losing out the most precious resource – TIME! . . . This is one of the fundamental problems that a lot of new age business schools are trying to solve. And Scaler School Of Business has an inherent advantage in this aspect. We know Scaler as a technology learning platform. And NOW they are enabling their tech ecosystem for their business students! As a part of their business school curriculum, they push students to build startups (from ideation to market launch). It's been quite a ride growing All Tech Is Human from an unfunded idea to an eleven-person team building the world's largest multistakeholder, multidisciplinary network in Responsible Tech! The idea is quite simple: our current approach to tackling thorny tech & society issues just isn't working. The process moves too slowly, doesn't properly leverage collective intelligence, and doesn't open up pathways for a broad range of backgrounds to participate. We are naturally collaborative, highly participatory, and can move at the speed of tech. That immense need is why All Tech Is Human exists. Today, we've created a flywheel of activities (in-person gatherings, Slack community of 8k across 90 countries, mentorship program that over 1k people have utilized, 7 working groups, reports like the Responsible Tech Guide, weekly livestreams, popular job board, talent pool of 6k) that focus on three key areas: community-building, education, and careers. We're the engine powering the larger Responsible Tech movement. Learn about All Tech Is Human below! Hello LinkedIn Community, I am Sam Deo, currently a Computer Science major at Fisk University. Last week, I completed the final presentation of my project prototype, "?????????????????????????? ????," in front of a distinguished panel of US Army officials, DoD, tech enthusiasts, and representatives from xTech . I am incredibly proud to announce that my project "IntelliDefend AI" won first prize at the xTech HBCU Student Competition 2024, held in February at the BEYA (Black Engineer of the Year) STEM Conference 2024. The alarming impact of civilian casualties in urban warfare has been my motivation to work on the ideation and the solution. Starting in October, I met with representatives from the US Army to understand their technological needs and also consulted with technologists and subject-matter experts to refine my project. I would especially like to thank Ashok Timsina and Demayne Collins, ACP, PMP, for their immense support and help in refining the project throughout, as well as my pitch deck. Here is a brief overview of my journey and the project: ?Problem Addressed: The high risk of civilian casualties and collateral damage in urban warfare due to limited visibility and complex infrastructure. ?Solution: IntelliDefend AI focuses on interoperability with autonomous GroundGuard Robots, AI-driven surveillance drones, and SoldierSphere AR devices, all interconnected through a central Nexus hub which is equipped with advanced AI algorithms. A century ago, education was an option. Parents needed to decide whether their child should go to school or follow the family trade - hunting, fishing, farming, or one of the other trades that were considered a more guaranteed pathway to financial independence. Today that has changed. Whatever path your child will take in the future, education has become the foundation on which they will build. The chances of success are limited if a child isn’t educated, so nobody is even debating whether their child should go to school or not. What education was 100 years ago is what technology is today. Right now, parents are still deciding whether their child should learn tech or not. Coding, Design, Data, and AI skills are still being seen as options. The discussion is still, “Should this child learn tech, or should she become a doctor?” However, in the near future, you’ll realize that tech will become the foundation on which all the other industries will be built. Right before our eyes, we have seen tech give birth to new industries out of old ones; we saw the birth of FinTech, EdTech, HealthTech, AgriTech, and the like. It doesn’t matter what your child's career path is; tech skills will give them an advantage. Don’t wait until the lack of tech skills becomes a disadvantage to your child before you begin; invest to help your kids learn valuable tech skills as part of their foundational education and give them a headstart on whatever path they follow. #EarlyFounders #TechforKids #StartUpforKids

I had a few ah ha moments while presenting at MicroK12's TechFest North yesterday on insights from Washington state's Educational Technology Survey. #1: It is important for small/rural districts to know they are not alone in cybersecurity staffing needs, #2: AI policy and procedure adoption is key to classroom integration and meaningful student use and #3: we will likely see 1:1 device replacement cycles regress back to pre-pandemic models due to funding shortfalls.
