What if the corporate sector could be the driving force behind solving our society's most pressing issues? It’s a question that has crossed my mind countless times. The answer, I believe, lies in the power of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Over the years, I’ve witnessed the incredible potential companies have to not only deliver services and products but to foster real change in the communities they operate in. From tackling environmental challenges to uplifting marginalized communities, the corporate sector has an unparalleled opportunity to create lasting social impact. But in Pakistan, we still see many corporations treating CSR as just another checkbox, rather than as a tool to transform lives. Imagine the difference we could make if Pakistani corporates embraced CSR fully—not just out of obligation, but out of a genuine desire to give back. By committing to responsible business practices and investing in community development, they could address critical issues like education, climate change, and inclusivity, especially for underrepresented groups like intersex individuals. The time for change is now. Let’s encourage our corporate leaders to step up, contribute, and engage meaningfully in Corporate Social Responsibility. Together, we can build a future where both businesses and communities thrive. #CSR #CorporateSocialResponsibility #LeadershipWithPurpose #PakistaniCorporates #ImpactForGood #Sustainability #EthicalBusiness #SocialImpact #InclusiveGrowth #TransformingCommunities #CSRMatters #LeadershipForChange #CSRForumPakistan CSR Forum Pakistan

SDGs Masterclass Advocate Program corhort 5 (week 4) The SDGs Advocate Programme is designed as a 3-month intensive training and advocacy programme for Nigerian Youths. The training includes 20+ lectures, original readings, and comprehensive assessments that will allow young actors and changemakers to deepen their understanding of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The goal of this programme is to build a community of exceptional young leaders who will champion and promote SDGs advocacy across the nation. This programme seeks to offer youths between the ages of 18-35 years an opportunity to become one of Nigeria's SDGs advocates, supporting them in the achievement of the SDGs across the 36 states in Nigeria. It promotes the active participation of youths and the creation of long-lasting change in their communities or immediate environments whilst also contributing to global goals. The mission of the SDGs Advocate Programme is to create a world where every primary and secondary school student, household, or community group is equipped with the knowledge, values, and skills necessary for effectively responding to the most significant challenges of this century and shaping a sustainable and prosperous world. Week 4, lecture was about leadership which was delivered by Madam Catherine Busari, Senior Advocate Program of Leap Africa, very interactive session, for any society to progress, there must a proactive leadership which is gear box for any meaningful development, there's need for a transformative Leadership. This pop the question, Who is a Leader, what does leadership mean to you, list people you consider leaders and why do you considered these individuals as leaders? The answers to these questions varied based on individual perspective but it should have some basic characteristics. Even though there are many perspective to who a leader is, the key thing is that anyone can be a leader, it isn't a function of a position, office, previlege of being born into leadership like the british Monarchy system or portfolio but rather what makes a leader is when one person deciding to provide solution to a problem that is affecting a person, or group of person in the community or society at large. A leader is a person where others saw a challenge, He/She sees a possibility to provide solution to problems other shy away from. leadership on the other hand is an art not a position.

We are delighted to have diversity and inclusion expert Suran Dickson as our guest speaker on?10 September. I just concluded a thorough reflections about what I have learnt in our last class of SDGs Master Class as first training in phase one , I have learnt a lot of things and gained valuable insights about the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Below are the excerpts from the class: 1. All the 17 SDGs are centred on addressing directly or indirectly , having a world that's free from poverty, hunger and climate change effects. 2. The work of Advocating this goals isn't one man work alone it has to be a collective actions of all living men and women 3. If we can successfully achieve these goals we will have an ideal universe where there's no gender discriminations ,no poverty and zero hunger 4. Service to humanity is best work of man (Man and Woman) 5. Partnership and collaboration with local organizations and international is necessary in achieving these goals. . The fun part of my job is that I get to approach everyday being challenged to rethink, relearn and practice new methodologies! Check out this slide deck below ?? ?? ?? ?? ??
A fantastic guide for rethinking monitoring, evaluation and learning through a feminist lens. The document outlines the key principles of feminist MEL and how to apply them in practice: ?? Participation & power sharing ?? Intersectionality ?? Collective learning ?? Care & wellbeing ?? Facilitating role ?? Celebrate diversity And explores key systems-level challenges to using this approach and how we might work together to address them, including: ?? recognising that results-based management is extractive and passes the burden onto partners ?? MEL should be embedded into the social change process rather than an add-on ?? Changing the framing of rigour and what counts as knowledge ?? Recognising that mutual trust and accountability is an essential part of partnership building and institutional strengthening The document captures learning from a session on MEL in October 2023. Contributors include: Rosette Nanyonjo from Count Me In! (CMI!) a consortium of feminist funders and organisations based in the Global South and North. Rana Khoury and Jenny Sonesson from The Kvinna till Kvinna Foundation Rom Romalwati and Fitria Villa Sahara from PEKKA Foundation Kaushi Kogar and Alma Magana from JASS (Just Associates) Carol Miller and Ghada Jiha from Gender at Work Lori C. from Power Up! Consortium Noura Shahed and Kim Groen from Save the Children International Lila Aizenberg from Leading from the South Jaynie V. from Oxfam Novib Frédérique Been from Partos Great piece of collective learning ?? ???? #feministMEL #evaluation

I’m pleased to announce that I have been selected as a LEADER OF SOCIAL IMPACT by CSR Forum Pakistan ! ?? This acknowledgment reaffirms my belief in the transformative power of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as a catalyst for societal change. Through my experience in facilitating a Business Ethics course and mentoring students on CSR projects, I have seen firsthand the profound impact that responsible business practices can have in uplifting communities. CSR initiatives are vital for transforming the social, economic, and environmental landscape of our society. They allow businesses to give back, create value beyond profits, and foster a culture of accountability and sustainability. In today’s world, engaging in CSR is not just a nice-to-have; it’s a must-have for long-term success and societal progress. According to the Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy, corporate giving in Pakistan amounts to approximately PKR 15 billion annually, but the potential for growth is immense. Countries with mature economies often lead in CSR efforts, addressing gaps in healthcare, education, and environmental conservation. We can replicate and localize these models for our unique socio-economic context. The corporate sector in Pakistan must step up its commitment to initiatives that focus on climate change mitigation, youth empowerment, women’s health, and educational reform—areas that align with our national needs and global sustainability goals. By leveraging CSR, businesses can not only meet compliance requirements but also inspire societal trust, create meaningful partnerships, and drive the socio-economic progress that our nation so desperately needs. Organizations like CSR Forum Pakistan are at the forefront of this movement, advocating for ethical practices and impactful initiatives that can redefine the corporate landscape. By tackling pressing issues such as climate action, youth and women empowerment, health awareness, and educational reform, we can create a more sustainable and equitable future for all. Let us unite as leaders in the corporate sector to deepen our commitment to meaningful CSR practices. Together, we can foster a culture of responsible leadership that enhances business value and uplifts our communities and the environment. Let’s inspire a wave of change across our nation by partnering with CSR Forum Pakistan CSR Forum Pakistan and championing initiatives that truly make a difference! #CSRPakistan #CorporateSocialResponsibility #Sustainability #BusinessEthics #SocialImpact #YouthEmpowerment #ClimateAction #WomenEmpowerment #CommunityDevelopment #PakistanYouth

It’s been three months since my appointment as the HER Voice Fund Ambassador for Botswana, and the realization that comes with a leadership position is the amount of responsibility that it carries. Leadership is not just about being a voice at the table, but about using that voice to create space for others, especially adolescent girls and young women (AGYW), to discover their own power. Empowering us to identify our strengths and capabilities is one of the most crucial aspects of creating a thriving, inclusive community. When we are given the tools, resources, and confidence to lead, we can advocate for ourselves and our peers, break down barriers, and address the unique challenges we face. It’s about fostering a sense of self-worth, encouraging resilience, and showing each other that our voices matter. The future of our communities depends on raising a generation of women who are bold, skilled, and prepared to take on leadership roles—not just for themselves, but to inspire and uplift others. This journey is teaching me that true leadership is not about holding onto power, but about sharing it. It’s about creating an environment where every young girl can envision herself as a leader and knows that her contributions are valued. Together, we can build a network of empowered young women ready to lead the change in Botswana and beyond. Happy New Week ??? #hervoicefund #positiveaction #yplusglobal #globalfund #mondays #AGYW #leadership #empowerment #women #September
